broughtonblue Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 So on the eve of a new season, where finishing just above relegation place should be considered a success, let's reflect on the record breaking achievements of last season. Best points tally by city Best start to a season Most home wins Most away wins Longest unbeaten run Nugent first player to score 20 in over 20 years Just a few off the top of my head (that is blurred by alcohol at the minute!) Sure there were many more, please add to the list. Doubt we will have such a brilliant season for many a year so let's reminisce before the going gets tough!
Bayfox Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 yeah but now it counts for **** all. we will be down by Christmas and qpr are going to finish 60 points clear of us

broughtonblue Posted 15 August 2014 Author Posted 15 August 2014 Fryatt?Yep sorry, meant in the '2nd' tier!
Raw Dykes Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 Didn't we break our longest winning run record as well as longest unbeaten?
Fox92 Posted 15 August 2014 Posted 15 August 2014 Watched the season review again today. Great watching. I always usually watch the season prior again, just before the opening day. It was truly a great season, but I echo what Nige says also that we're starting a fresh for tomorrow and last year, as good as it was, remains a great memory. I still have full faith in Nigel as our manager, always have done, we'll show the Premier League what we are capable of that's for sure.
Nalis Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Even if we have some amazing seasons ahead which trump this one, I'll have fond memories of last season when I'm old and grey as it was the first where we've romped the second tier in my lifetime.
Filbert_Ross Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 First time we won the opening two games in our entire history.
promised land Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 First time we won the opening two games in our entire history. Eh? Have the football league altered the stats then because as far as I can remember when we played Leeds at home, (2nd game of the season) we drew.

promised land Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Sorry. Opening two away games. Thought you might have meant that, sometimes typing it's hard to show how you mean it. I suppose I should've put a in.
