AKCJ Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Name a defender in the league who hasn't made an error. Name a defender in the league that could have read that pass from Cazorla.
Dan Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Just watched their goal back (after much struggling, so much for exposure being better in this division eh?) and you could argue Mahrez was the one playing Sanogo onside.
Grandad. Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Frigging hell some of you have took this in a touchy way haven't you? I haven't said I don't think Liam is a good player, I just don't think he will have the future and the career a lot of you are predicting he will. I have seen nothing yet to suggest he is an up and coming centre back for this country or go on to play for the better sides in this league. I have said a lot of you think he is better than he is because he is the 'hometown boy', see what I said there? A lot of you, not all of you, a lot of you. If you think Liam Moore is going to be one of the best centre backs in the country in a few years then fair enough, I hope he is, I just can't see it happening. I don't see what makes him better than any other English young centre back, credit Liam is playing regular Premier League football. You (AKCJ) have said he has made strikers look like headless chickens? Who exactly? You haven't kept a clean sheet, comeout with that kind of nonsense when there have been clean sheets at Leicester. Yes and before you start, I know who you have played this season, I know it has been a very tough start but you have still conceded 6 goals in four games, 0 clean sheets and Liam Moore has played in all 4 of them games. This is no vendetta to the lad, this has all come about because I think John Stones is a better player, it still remains to be seen if Stones is going to be as good as predicted but he will learn from playing with better players, International players, that goes back to Finners good point about exposure. Stones will look better in a better side who keep more clean sheets who have less defending to do, Liam won't, good chance that Leicester are going to conceded roughly around the same number that they score this season. Stones will play with Jagielka (who has played with John Terry, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Cahill) Baines who has played with the same and Distin been a top Premier League centre back for years.. Liam Moore? Playing with Konchesky, Morgan, De Laet.. That's not me knocking them either, they have settled in well but who is going to progress more as a player learning from the better players.

Go ask as Lukaku if he preferred playing against Liam or Terry and Cahill and ask Costa if he preferred playing against Liam or Jagielka. How about you reserve judgement until you actually watch him play. Exposure to the Premier League is all that stands between him and players like Stones, Caulker and Chambers.

I don't know Lukaku or Diego Costa well enough to ask them that question, sorry. I have watched all four of Leicester's game this season? The first two were on TV, Shrewsbury I went and Arsenal was on Sky, I think after 360 minutes of football I can conform an opinion on someone. Chambers and Stones are playing with dare I say 'top international' footballers, especially Chambers and Caulker is learning off one of the best natural centre backs the country has seen, yeah Rio Ferdinand is dog shit now but he was absolutely class and knows the game better than most. Seriously, read everything I put in a post instead of replying to just snippets, if you can't see that I'm not actually having a go at Liam Moore then there is no hope for you, I just don't think he is as good as everyone thinks he is or is going to be.
Dan Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 I don't really think you can use not keeping a clean sheet against him yet. Shrewsbury was a freak result in which the entire team didn't want to know, the other three were against three of the best sides in the country. On the flip side - has Stones not been part of a defence that shipped 2 at Leicester? You can say all you want about who they're playing alongside but Cambiasso is a defensive minded player so he will have some kind of influence, and I'd rather have him doing it than Jagielka.
Stadt Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Name a defender in the league who hasn't made an error.Jagielka starts for England ffsHow about we see how good they are come the end of the season? Stones is composed and a decent passer of the ball so he's going to get more media attention.
Grandad. Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 I think you'll have a better understanding of what I am saying when you play Stoke, who will more than likely play with two out and out strikers v Leicester, Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal more or less played with just one striker with a lot of busy bodies running around behind them. Leicester did want to know in that Shrewsbury game, I was there, I seen how the game went, when they went to two upfront Liam was muscled off the ball, dragged all over the place and was made to look very average. V Stoke and they do play two upfront more than likely Diouf and one of Walters or Crouch as Odemwinge is injured, Liam will then have to take responsibility for one man, not have Morgan covering him and vice versa for Morgan with Liam covering. See, you pick one thing out of everything I have said.. I give up. For the last time, I hope Liam Moore DOES have a fantastic career in the game and he DOES go on to play for England, right now I just can't see it, that is my opinion, I have seen him play four times this season and a handful of times last season and not once have I changed my opinion. I fully expect him to now mark Sturridge and Balotelli out of the game when Liverpool go to the King Power and this be shoved in my face but until then, then my opinion will remain the same.
The Doctor Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Moore isn't one of the up and coming centre backs - watch the performances of stones and Moore so far, and if you had to identify which was a big hope tipped to be the heart of England's defence and which was a decent young centre back with some potential and anyone would identify Moore as the great hope - he's not in on two reasons - it's too soon and he doesn't play for a big club (chambers vs clyne shows that club is more important than ability when being considered for England)

It's like that with all of our players, people seriously think Vardy has a chance of playing for England.

ADK Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 I do think Moore has the best chance of all our players to become an England regular. He's not worse than any of the other England defenders imo. Vardy could get a cap or two if he has a good season but it'll be a token gesture most likely due to his age. I'd like to see how James and Drinkwater handle the premiership before tipping them to play for England. Don't really agree with Grandad, no point arguing about it though we'll see who's right in time.
Stadt Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Good article about English players and their failings http://whitehouseaddress.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/the-way-forward-lesson-in-game.html
The Blur Posted 5 September 2014 Posted 5 September 2014 Good article about English players and they're failings http://whitehouseaddress.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/the-way-forward-lesson-in-game.html Superb article, I have read other articles as well, he correctly predicted Fabgreas would go to Chelsea as well. Matt seems to be a superb philosopher, is he working for any team?
