Underdogs? Great! On par or favourites? Shocking...

I don’t know if its me, but in the matches against Crystal Palace and Burnley, we have a lot more of the ball, but it looks like we don’t actually do with it. There has been countless times on the flank where you have the winger and full back just passing back to each other, seemingly seeing no way through, taking their sweet time, and with nothing but a quick counterattack resulting from the squandered play.

In fact, in the Burnley match, 2nd half, I believe it was Nugent and De Laet (Both players who I really like, forgive me if I had made a mistake) who were struggling to get past one defender. They were just passing it between themselves, and that one defender was forcing them back. Honestly, a wild cross would've been more productive than what was going on there.

In the first five matches, we were significantly down on possession (In fact, wasn’t our average about 35% possession?), we made a lot of blocks, and Kasper was leading the save tally by a fair bit. When we made our attacks, they were always dangerous and always tests the defense (There was even a nifty little PP pic to go with it, showing that we were the best converters.) You always felt like that when we had it, we're going to make it count.

That 2nd half was just lacking energy, we looked spent as a creative force. Sure, we might have been going into their area, but it looked like we hadn’t a clue what we wanted. Stationary ball, one-twos between the same players, no real ideas coming to mind.

Perhaps that Man Utd game has really got other teams thinking, well, Burnley are well aware of course. I’m sure we’re all hearing the love in for our ‘Varney’ (It sounds like Varney to me). People are starting to hold that game as our par game. I'm not saying that's bad, but is that little extra pressure creeping in? You murdered Man Utd, now butcher the rest? External pressure after an excellent game?

What’s going on? Where has that creative juice gone? Are we just better as underdogs? Taking shots like a sponge, and then striking when the iron is hot? Because it seems whenever we’re on level (Crystal Palace) or outright favourites (Burnley), we get more of it, and it almost reeks of “Crap, I wasn’t expecting this, what do I do now?”

Point of the matter is, with all the options available to us, why do we look like we have no clue when we're at least on par with our opponents, when we've been doing this for the better part of half a year last season? It's only two games, yes, but its two games that looked very similar despite some changes in tactics. These games are our bread and butter, we should be getting threes. It looks like Crystal Palace and Burney had the right idea, our fans had the right idea (Good attendance even if its Burnley), but the players? Slack.

In the last two games we've been undone by a lack of strength in the air and a failure to pick up second balls.

It will be interesting to see if King comes back in because his reading of the game is fantastic and he's decent in the air to boot. Trouble is that we'd probably have to go 4-3-3 to accommodate him.

Yeah, can't be doing without Hammond in the starting eleven

It's more about suiting King's style of play.

I wouldn't have Hammond in the 18 except for games against last year's top 7.

It's not a problem specific to us, as good as (we think) we are we still don't have enough quality to break teams that are defending so resolutely. Nobody in our squad is great at shooting from range so maybe that's why we were interested in Mcgoldrick?

It's the Leicester way.

Exactly! Almost everyone I spoke to before the game today said something along the lines of "We beat Man U, we'll probably loose today, typical Leicester!" Is anyone actually surprised at what happened?  lol

Surprised? No.

Disappointed? Yes.

If it's the "Leicester way" then what's the point in competing if we're only going to turn up for 14 games.

Absolutely not. And you could have put your life savings on Burnley scoring against us.

No.

It doesn't make it acceptable or excusable though. We need to stop it being typical Leicester or the 'Leicester way'.

The side misses a quality, creative central midfielder. It really does.

In Vardy, we have one of the quickest strikers in the division.

We MUST utilise this by slipping quality passes through for him to run on to.

Drinky, James and especially Hammond are all solid. But they arent attack minded.

This is why we miss King in a more forward position. He has the quality to play that killer ball.

Im not on about the wide men. Mahrez has attacking quality. But I firmly believe that central midfield area will be our key to staying up or getting relegated.

People were laffing at me for suggesting Cattermole. On here, I'm not surprised. He is, apparently, having a very good season? One of the reasons I suggested him was because he has the defensive quality to just hold..and to let the other central midfielders get forward.

Lets hope Cambiasso has the legs to perform this function. He certainly has the quality.
