Finnegan Posted 31 October 2014 Author Posted 31 October 2014 So a little update. Nytol is ludicrous. Took it on my fifth night since it started and it wiped me out, it's crap sleep though, feels exhausted the next day, like you might as well not have bothered. The following night (Tuesday) I then slept naturally. Wednesday likewise. Last night upstairs was making noise again and I was massively on edge, couldn't relax, flinching at every sound. So I tried foam earplugs. Turns out I had waxy ears and should have done something about this first. I'm now deaf in my right ear, it's impacted. I've had it a little milder than this before from lying on my side, hopefully it clears during the day. But right now... Kinell.
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 Nothing really to give in terms of advice but I hope you can sort this out Finners. Not being able to sleep is probably the most annoying thing I've experienced so I can't imagine what it must be like to have to go through this. Actually can give a bit of advice, if I ever had trouble sleeping when I was a teenager I used to put Holst's The Planets on the CD player. Seemed to work for me but sounds like you need a bit more.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 Nytol's a funny one. I actually find it can make me feel worse than the prescription sleep medication I've had. I can imagine a bit of Holst doing the trick. If you need something to look at too then I can genuinely recommend British Sea Power's "From the Sea to the Land Beyond" DVD. It's BFI archive footage of vaguely maritime related activities set to mainly instrumental versions of much loved BSP hits. It just about holds your attention despite providing very little actual stimulation. They won't be putting that on a sticker on the cover
Freesolo Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 Nytol's a funny one. I actually find it can make me feel worse than the prescription sleep medication I've had. Same with me i took a prescription antihistamine that can make you a little sleepy my doctor told me and it wasn't addictive so i was hopeful, ended up taking the lowest dose and i was out the game for about 3 days I could hardly keep my eyes open and was like a spaced out zombie, it was horrible couldn't drive or work.
Carl the Llama Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 I used to have serious difficulty getting to sleep. I find a generous dose of Whisky before bed does a wonderful job.
Finnegan Posted 31 October 2014 Author Posted 31 October 2014 Trying not to collapse in to alcoholism.
