Gary Eatfood Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 This might cheer y'all up a bit: Take that you cheating **** The more I look at that the more I find it a very strange reaction to being poked in the eye. A little theatrical perhaps? Step back, hold face, pivot, fall and roll.
Vlad the Fox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Even more annoying to see that both Smalling and Vertonghen got away with obvious hand balls within the box on the same day. Terrible refereeing all round. And green got away with one outside the box. These are straightforward decisions that refs in clear view are getting wrong more than ever. You can argue for technology to help in these decisions but there is something seriously wrong with the standards of reffereeing if they arn't being picked up in the first instance. Turning the refs professional was supposed to improve standards, it's only got worse. I wonder if we should be looking more at the F.A. giving unrealistic or bad directives to match officials or if bad rules like the current offside rule which is leading to so many blatant offsides being missed.
Thommo Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Until we get to the situation where referees explain their decisions, we will be going around in circles....and all this ' if the ref sees the incident during the match ' crap continues(and cannot penalise after the game) we will never improve things.. look at Cahill kicking Kane the other night ...SO DELIBERATE!! but cannot be punished.. if the FA are genuinely interested in improving the game then they MUST take a look at this..
Carl the Llama Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 You're not wrong Thommo. This is somewhat of a golden age for inept football legislature.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 It really didn't happen so quickly that it wasn't quite blatantly kicked against his head. As has been said you'd had a drink and were much further away, I can appreciate it probably isn't as easy a decision to make as some are making out but he's a level 1 ref reffing in the prem stood no more than 8-10 yards away, it's a horrendous error. He had one arm in the air the other was clearly on the dec. Splitting hairs here I know but I'd go as far to say I was actually closer to the incident than the ref who was a good 20 yards away
