I'm normally fairly lenient towards the Refs. But this has just been ridiculous. Handed Liverpool 3 points on a plate.

Edit: Or 1 point, hahaha. lol

Mike Jones has been dropped a number of times over the years for bizarre decisions and ludicrous incompetence. How he remains a premier league referee is anyone's guess. I certainly wouldn't rule out match fixing. I hope nige seriously speaks out about this today because this referee needs to be sacked and this game should be replayed.

He's an awful awful referee who shouldn't be officiating at this level. I remember seeing him ref the Southampton v Man City game a couple of weeks back and his decisions were comical.

He was demoted after that game to the championship. He then reffed a championship game and yet again gave bizarre decisions and was dropped yet again altogether for the following week.

Liverpool were the beneficiaries of a decision that Gary Lineker described as the 'worst penalty decision ever' in their clash at home against Leicester City.

Liverpool took the lead through a Steven Gerrard penalty in the 17th minute but Leicester were left furious after referee Mike Jones deemed that Wes Morgan handled the ball in the penalty area.

An excellent sliding pass from Liverpool forward Coutinho released Raheem Sterling in the 16th minute and as the frontman checked back, Leicester defender Morgan slid in and was adjudged to have handled.

Wouldn't rule this out either to be honest. Even if we we're to come out and score twice or even 3 in this second half, I'd still feel pissed off at this b*llend referee. Cheat.

There’s always a bit of debate on whether something is a penalty or not. Was it in the box, was it outside, was there contact or did he dive? Sometimes there’s a big debate on if it was hand to ball or ball to hand, it’s always a bit of a mess. However, sometimes referee’s get it wrong, and if the case of Liverpool vs Leicester City, poor Wes Morgan will be a little bit sour about this decision.

The poor Leicester man was hit IN THE FACE with a ball and Mike Jones decided that it was a penalty. Now whether Mr Jones has had a tough night celebrating New Years or he simply forgot the rules, but Leicester City fans were notably annoyed.

Despite it CLEARLY not being a penalty, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard took no sympathy and scored from the penalty like it was no big deal.

So, how did Twitter react to poor Wes Morgan? Here are some of the best tweets:

I'm not one for death threats because that's just too far. But a shit on his door step should be sufficient....

Liverpool were awarded two penalties in the first half of their New Year's Day game against Leicester at Anfield.

While the second was debatable, there could be no doubt that the first was never a spot-kick.

Referee Mike Jones decided Leicester's Wes Morgan had handled in the box from a Raheem Sterling cross, when the ball clearly hit his face.

Then 20 minutes later a Phillipe Coutinho cross hit Danny Simpson's hand, albeit there was arguably little the Foxes player could do to get out of the way.

Cue 'Penalty to Liverpool' trending worldwide on Twitter…

Once again we have been f*#$ed over by poor decisions by a ref this is getting too frequent that teams we are playing are getting all the fecisions and were getting non!

The problem is we were ontop at the time of the first penalty and it changes the game and now he given the second penalty its handed liverpool the 3 points on a plate! Absolute joke!

And the problem is Pearson wont say anything about the ref cus for some reason the fa protect the refs even when there in the wrong! Cus he will get a huge punishment! Yet another absoluye joke!

If Pearson gives his honest opinion about the penalty decisions in his post-match interviews, he will probably end up banned for the rest of the season.
