What has Marc Albrighton done?

Ok now make the point for Tom Lawrence.........

Why would I do that when I have already said that I would have brought on Albrighton (Presuming he's 100%)?

The only thing I could think of at the time was that we didn't want to remove all our pace by taking off Vardy, Nugent and Schlupp and Lawrence offered that more than Albighton.

Well then we agree then!

Let's be honest now, Schlupp was an absolute pile of cack until the last month, and was cack again on Saturday.

You actually hate him don't you.

Yes he over hit about one cross, but all our good bits of play came from his side, and he set up our best chance, but of course that still makes him cack in your eyes.

Even without Ulloa he should have been in the team ahead of Knockaert, who apart from 'putting in a shift' offers very little at this level.

People seem to forget that Schlupp beat his man and crossed along the ground to Knockaert, whose shot was tame and straight at the goalkeeper.  Schlupp also set up Vardy in the first half, and was about the only LCFC player who ever worried the Stoke defence.  Schlupp off for Lawrence was definitely a bizarre decision.

Yet he still looked like our only threat first half and managed to tee up a chance for Knockaert to tamely miss.

Not really Schlupp had ran out of gas. Lawrence coming on instead of Albrighton was slightly bizarre but NP must have has his reasons.

One chance...

... He isn't good enough

He had the better of Bardsley until he went off, and setting up one glorious chance isn't too bad for 60 mins work.

I think Albrighton was unlucky to lose his place but I could see the reasoning behind Schlupp and Knockaert as wingers. Quite why Lawrence came on instead of him though when he's so far looked well out of his depth is anyone's guess.

Yes, another strange one from Pearson indeed, tinkering with a winning team and all - for a game that was clearly winnable with our current form, plus bearing in mind the horrific run we face next month! It was just as well all the other teams around us f****d up too! I must say I was more bemused than anything else about Albrighton being left out of the team on Saturday after last week's performance against Villa, despite what's been said on here about his inclusion not working when Nugent and Vardy would be in the starting line up.

For me starting Vardy remains a 'no no', he would be better coming on as a sub for the remainder of the games this season when need be, when we need some extra pace in the second half if we're flagging....and while Nugent would be better playing a similar role as a bench warmer for the most part too, I'd say he was ok to start certain games depending on who's going to partner him, along with the nature of the opponents and their style of play. Albrighton being overlooked once again was indeed another strange Pearson decision though as said, as was leaving both of our two record transfer signings on the bench to commence with a clearly inferior starting duo - and starting Schlupp, who was apparently not long back from a knee injury and clearly a little off the pace! This may have been a great opportunity missed to have made great strides to climb out of the bottom three.
