We seem to have been on the end of some incredible saves this season .Our keepers have been nowhere near the level of the other teams.Wonder how many teams have had 3 keepers this year?

Fox92 Posted 18 February 2015 Posted 18 February 2015 The whole back five (or six in some cases) hasn't been anywhere near good enough. Our inability to defend, even simple set pieces, has been a downfall this season. We've conceded too many soft goals.

Excluding the two incorrectly awarded penalties Liverpool scored, he's only conceded 6 goals on 8 games. I think that ratio would put him second behind Fraser Forster in the Premier League. Could NP explain why he's not playing?

Kasper made some of his customary great saves earlier in the season... ?
shailen Posted 19 February 2015 Posted 19 February 2015 I think we have gone backwards in this department since Kasper has been injured. Yes he has made some mistakes but so have the other two keepers, but he is capable of pulling off some absolutely world class saves, especially the one against Villa. I don't think Hamer or Schwazer are capable of winning us a game with their performances, whereas Kasper is and has done so in the past. Joe Hart makes a few mistakes, as did David James in the past but they played at the top level because of their ability to win games

Agree that he isn't the best with crosses, Schwazer is the most commanding from that list but the role of a keeper is to primarily to keep the ball out of the net, and Kasper is the best at doing that.
