27% of British Muslims support terrorist attacks

The only thing i'd be worried about is Albert Pike's prediction of a 3rd world war started by pitting muslims against muslims in the the middle east and drawing in other countries who backed each side.

To me, the fact that other groups of ideological nutjobs around the world don't have hundreds of thousands of supporters and sympathisers in the country in which I live. The fact that these other groups don't commit regular attacks on innocent civilians on western soil. The fact that there aren't hundred if not thousands of people with British passports currently being trained and motivated by these other groups to return home and commit further acts of terror. In short because this group presents a real threat to my safety and lifestyle whereas the others don't.

Honest question, if the EDL started murdering people and setting up training camps for other would-be killers and were recruiting thousands of young brits, would you be so keen to dismiss it?

They don't need to. There's a very old institution who recruits on the telly.

Seriously, what an absolutely cuntish thing to post.

nothing more controversial than what you post regularly. The army are trained killers are they not?

Can see the point you're making and I agree. Until people in power start to accept that the armed forces (not just ours but America too) are seen as ruthless killers in the eyes of many on foreign occupied land, we're not going to get any kind of resolution.

Oh sorry, I must of missed the subtle tone to your post

There was no tone. It's just stated a fact. The army advertises on the television amoungst other mediums. You are trained, and when ordered to, to dispatch a person. There's clearly a sensibility that's been ruffled, but I'm failing to see what it is?

I'm not going to massage your ego by telling why you are a shitbag, you know why.

Seriously, I'm getting whoosh on this. Are you saying I'm wrong, but you can't say why? I haven't even expressed an opinion, I don't understand.

You're not "getting whoosh" at all. You're obviously drawing a comparison between the British armed forces and Islamic State, and you know exactly why that might raise a few eyebrows.

My opinion is that it's a fair point to some degree. In as much as IS kill people in the name of protecting their way of life, so too do our army. However IS are obviously far more barbaric in the way they go about it, and they intentionally target innocent civilians. Also they're not so much protecting am existing way of life, but enforcing a new one on people who want no part of it, that's why two thirds of the citizens of Raqqa have fled the city, preferring living in squalor in refugee camps to living under IS rule. The majority of those remaining live in well justified fear.

You could argue that western militaries haven't exactly been innocent in their own motives, but much of that is speculation, none of us know the truth about how certain acts carried out by our army have been justified. If we knew the full facts then maybe we'd agree with what has been done.

I am drawing comparisons for every organised military organisation. Listing them all and/or putting images of all ads would be silly.

For all the good intentions of the individuals who join the army the reality is that there have been an enormous number of innocent people killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Clearly the armed forces didn't set out to do this but it shouldn't surprise us that a lot of people don't take a favourable view of us as a result.

Again I'm not accusing our servicemen of being bad people - not at all - but I don't think we can just brush off the impact that British foreign policy has had on how we're viewed by the Islamic world.

I'm not either. I have good friends and have family too who are in the British, the American, and the Irish army (NATO peacekeepers). Given some of the things they've seen or done, I don't treat them any different because of it.
