cullenfox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 So we were too safe eh Pearson? One thing's for sure your far from being too safe in the job. Horrible result which leaves everyone in no doubt as to where we'll be next season. I would like to see Pearson being put at risk in terms of keeping his job.
Monsell1976 Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Why can't people understand we played 5-3-2 in that formation the wing backs join the attack, hence his decision to go with de Leat over Simpson. That is not an intended defensive performance. It's a counter attacking formation that means you can potentially create 4-4 in a counter very quickly. Admittedly the players didn't use it effectively. But the pressure is on. We're too scared to let in goals and therefore are scared to attack. Such a hard situation to be in. Hull were always going to play it safe, and not attack in great numbers, counter attack was pointless, against a team who always had cover at the back. Also left us looking clueless and dis jointed going forward, we looked like a team that had never played together, and misplaced so many balls, because the players looked lost in what their roles were.

Yeah but why the hell are we playing counter attacking football against a side like Hull at home? We should of gone out attacking from the word go.
Clever Fox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Good teams defend from the front. It should have been an aggressive attacking line up today pressing them into there own half and forcing mistakes. Nugent should have been on from the start. He's still our most talented attacker.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Up until now I've thought that Pearson would be the best bet if we do go down. I'm a firm believer that stability will bring success and I think he's been excellent over the last few years at getting the club back on track, on and off the pitch. BUT, the more I think about it, there isn't a huge difference between the Premier League and the Championship. If we go down, what is there to really suggest that he'd bring us right back up? Is it possible that this challenge has broken him as a manager a bit and it'll take him some time to recover as well? I feel exactly the same.
deep blue Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 I was not able to follow the match so my comments are only based on reports and stats. I was pleased with the 3-5-2 formation, showing more attacking intent. You still might argue that 2 CBs were enough against Hull, though, which would have made room for Nugent at the start. This would have allowed us to play a pressing game from the front. Whatever the formation I'm very disappointed that, according to reports, we didn't come out "all guns blazing" from the off. Maybe the importance of the game got to the players, made them nervous and cautious?
Foxhateram Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Yeah but why the hell are we playing counter attacking football against a side like Hull at home? We should of gone out attacking from the word go. I see your point but I think you are underestimating the Hull attack. N'Doye and Jelavic are both very effective, Pacey and strong forwards. Conceding today would have killed us off completely. As it was we came away with a point and created chances (Which yet again we didn't finish) you can't blame Pearson for that. What's he supposed to do? Upson heads into the keepers arms from a yard out, Schlupp skies his one on one, Cambiasso drives just wide, Ulloa heads it onto the roof of the net. There were many more chances we squandered. I really don't know what the answer is, what I do know is that the formation today was not a defensive one, simple as that. If we finish our chances we wouldn't be the mess we are in.
the-blue-wildabeast Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 And the Knobhead actually has taken coaching badges but fails to realise that if you have 50% of your outfield players on the edge of your own box you struggle to create chances and therefore score. The Twat should never work in proffesional football again.
Parafox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Not over til its over. Out of curiosity, someone post how far back Fulham were in their great escape... are we even further back now??? It's over
Parafox Posted 14 March 2015 Posted 14 March 2015 Clueless football troll. FOAD Pearson. No, Just FO.
