DJ Barry Hammond Posted 14 April 2010 Posted 14 April 2010 Thought I'd start a seperate topic on this, as I can imagine this will be talking point from tomorrow and there on, and one deserving of its on topic, not just to be lumped in with the other election debate. (Maybe their should be a special sub section on Foxes Talk! for it) I've also added a vote, which could prove interest - or not. And on a lighter note, can we come up with some drinking game that could be played whilst the debates go on (much like the soccer saturday one). If its good enough, we could forward it to the Sun, they'd print it! I've started off with some idea's below Election Debate Drinking Game 1.) Drink 1 figure every time the word 'fair' is spoken 2.) Drink for as long as any apaluse that occurs (there should be no clapping according to the rules!) 3.) Brown attempts to smile = Three fingers 4.) Cameron attempts to not look smarmy = Three fingers 5.) Clegg attempts to be noticed = Three fingers 6.) Down your pint if one of the candidates swear
FoxyPV Posted 14 April 2010 Posted 14 April 2010 Can I add one to the drinking game? Neck a bottle of vodka if someone clearly, honestly and directly answers a question
AoWW Posted 14 April 2010 Posted 14 April 2010 Can I add one to the drinking game? Neck a bottle of vodka if someone clearly, honestly and directly answers a question Now you're just being silly - adding pointless, unnecessary rules.
Fosse Boy Posted 14 April 2010 Posted 14 April 2010 Cleggy'll just remind everyone of what a stud he is and the 16-25 male vote belongs to the Lib Dems. Job done. LAD.
FoxyPV Posted 14 April 2010 Posted 14 April 2010 Now you're just being silly - adding pointless, unnecessary rules. lol
Jon the Hat Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Ah. I read that as who WILL come out better, not who did. Oops. I expect Cameron to be his usual effective debating self. That said, this deal is best for Clegg, because it puts him on an equal footing with the big two, which is very very generous.
l444ry Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Hopefully Cameron will be exposed for the empty vessel, snake oil salesman that he is.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Hopefully Cameron will be exposed for the empty vessel' date=' snake oil salesman that he is.[/quote']Or brown for the bullying arrogant control freak he is...
Sir Fynwy Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Are we electing a president now? I won't be watching this televisual farce.
sdb Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Just hope it breaks out from the usual format of ask a question, get a pre-planned answer that doesn't quite fit the initial question. I'm sure Brown has the ability to destroy Cameron but I think his nerves and general unpopularity may mean he suffers a bit. Clegg is in a cushty position as was Cable the other week - sit in the middle, critisise the other two and get little back.
Daggers Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 I have far better things to be doing than watching this contrived shite: I am going to play mini-golf.
Alexikokopops Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 I have far better things to be doing than watching this contrived shite: I am going to play mini-golf. I'm going here soon. I'm a little excited.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 On a serious note, Clegg is likely to come out best as the other two will invariably go straight for each other's throats at the first opportunity and carry on that way for the duration.
l444ry Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Or brown for the bullying arrogant control freak he is... Bloody poor do then that Gordon Brown, even with all his shortcomings, makes Cameron look like a political lightweight.

Cameron regularlay makes Brown look like a fool.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Bloody poor do then that Gordon Brown, even with all his shortcomings, makes Cameron look like a political lightweight. Everyone looks like a lightwieght after 13 years in opposition, largely becasue all you can do is dance around the edges.
Daggers Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 I'm going here soon. I'm a little excited. That looks outstanding. I'm jealous.
l444ry Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Everyone looks like a lightwieght after 13 years in opposition, largely becasue all you can do is dance around the edges. Shame he doesn't stop dancing round the edges and deal with that other political lightweight Osborne.
Sir Fynwy Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 I'm going here soon. I'm a little excited. I played my last corporate golf event at the golf club about a mile away from there, wish I could have swapped venue, would have enjoyed it much more.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 Shame he doesn't stop dancing round the edges and deal with that other political lightweight Osborne. You either want him to be a good politician, in which case working at Conservative Central Office and as an MP for 16 years is pretty good experience, or you buy the rather selective line on the youtube video, which is that he has no real world experience. Very very few people appear to have both, and certainly none of them are at the top of the Labour party.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 One of the questions to Dave will be 'do you really like Morrissey? I mean really, REALLY like Morrissey?' I wouldn't have thought that songs like 'Margaret on the guillotine' would sit particularly well with him
hairy Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 I'm going here soon. I'm a little excited. Bastard! All we have is Congo River Crazy Golf http://www.blabygolfcentre.co.uk/americanadventuregolf.html <_<
Daggers Posted 15 April 2010 Posted 15 April 2010 ...or you buy the rather selective line on the youtube video, which is that he has no real world experience Regardless of party politics - do you not agree that having a range of successful experience outside politics should be a pre-requisite for working within it?
