Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...89520-19413809/ LEICESTER City have made a £2million double bid for Birmingham City's Stephen Clemence and DJ Campbell.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Yes please although in the Beeb gossip column it says Southampton and Charlton are in for Clemence, it is a question of what to believe. I hope this is true.
chili_con_carne Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Sounds a reasonable rumour as DJ Campbell played under Allen at Brentford and we need another centre mid. Will be a good deal if it's true, and will also mean we won't be splashing a million odd quid on McLeod.
MPH Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 No thanks, not for that kind of money. Agree with Ric - if clemence is going for around 500k then it values Cambell at 1.5m.... not sure i have seen enough of him to be happy paying that amount... he didnt really vut it in the prem..

Did he even get a chance?? Anyway we aren't in the prem yet and so we should judge him on his championship form which has been good.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 July 2007 Author Posted 6 July 2007 I'd take them to be honest. I'd prefer McLeod and Clemence if possible though.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Dudley is crap. Stephen is good. 2 Million is alot.
Lester LXXIV Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Dudley is crap.Stephen is good. 2 Million is alot. I'd be happy with this deal, maybe 1.5 mil would be slightly more realistic but there you go! Clemence, Hendry and Kish in midfield? I like it!

FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Nine league goals for a team that finished 2nd! Well done Dudley Or you could say he started 20 games and scored 12 goals? Have you got a touch of "The Thracians" an started manipulating stats to back up your argument Manwell?
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Or you could say he started 20 games and scored 12 goals?Have you got a touch of "The Thracians" an started manipulating stats to back up your argument Manwell? True, but then he had plenty of subs apperances as well.

They did the old rotation thing with their strikers last year didn't they? So thats a good return really!
dandannieldanok Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Campbell would be a good signing, his record is no worse than Job's (who people got surprisingly over-excited about) and I'm sure if he started consistent games he would produce more than he did at Brum.

Ffs Job has never played outside the top level and ****ign dudley has had half a season there.
escape2victory Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Dudley can do one. he is beans. Clemence would be quality. Him and Kishishev would complement each other very well. Good mixture of aggression and guile. A midfield four next season of: Ka'abi----Kishishev----Clemence----Hendrie EI EI EIO
Cheese Me Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Would love Clemence but not sure about DJ. Think we can do better up front (and already have better too). £1m for Clemence wouldn't be unreasonable (we're never going to get him for £500k are we) but why waste another million
Sparky Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 wouldnt mind dj and rate him more than lisbie but that fee is ridiculous , 1m for both or no deal
Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 July 2007 Author Posted 6 July 2007 Would have preferred Davies and Cohen to these two by a country mile.
Geo V Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 More paper column filler. Bruce wants Clemence to stay and has been quite open about that and maybe DJ is available as they bolster there squad but £2m is silly money and we could have got far better players for that. I`d be amazed if any of these happen because DJ for starters is a midget striker and we are after a target man!
pazey69 Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 I really do hope that this is true, clemence would be a quality signing. Campbell on the other hand may be a bit risky at that price but i feel that if he is given the chance and is given confidence, he could turn out to be a good player in this division.

FleckneyFox Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 still to many rumours going round aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah if the newton thing is true then we should only be bringing in another 2 players according to Mandaric yet were still being linked with 10 different players
