davieG Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 City's Starlets Hit Robins For Six Sat 05 Jan 2008Leicester City's Under-18s began the New Year in spectacular fashion with a resounding 6-2 victory at Bristol City. The Foxes went a goal down early on before responding with a 25-yard cracker-jack from Ashley Chambers (pictured). Billy McKay then netted his first of the game to make sure the visitors went in to the break a goal up. Steve Beaglehole's men upped the tempo after half-time and added further goals through McKay, Ryan Beswick, Craig King and debutant Elliott Chamberlain, who is still only 15 years-of-age. "It was a very pleasing performance especially after going a goal down early on," admitted Academy Manager Jon Rudkin. "We really posed a threat going forward and could even have added more to our tally, hitting the post on a couple of occasions as well." The 18s are back in action on Tuesday evening at the Walkers Stadium when they entertain Crystal Palace in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup (7pm). Team: Pentney, O'Neil (Hicks), Garner, Rowe-Turner, Cobb, King, Cox, Tuttle, Beswick, McKay (Chamberlain), Chambers (John).
Tommy G Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Well its better than the shag performances the first team are putting in at the minute!
Raj Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Get the academy players in for the next game. Cant be any worse than our first team. THAT should be a kick the the arse for em.

Thracian Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Oh My God, i played with elliot at hinckley united up until under 13's he is he is excellent, his technique is sublime. He must be good to be getting into that forward line as a 15-year-old - and nice to see he got a goal. I don't think the side is anything like as good as last year's overall but they have a decent attack, especially now Ryan Beswick is back on the wing. Looks like Jorrin John came on as a sub too. I mentioned him as one to look out for last season. Very talented.
SamL Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I thought it was Pentney who was involved in the warm up at QPR and today, or was that Cisak? Can someone please fill me in? Thanks.
Mikey Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Oh My God, i played with elliot at hinckley united up until under 13's he is he is excellent, his technique is sublime. Do you still play for Hinckley ?
Ultra Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Oh My God, i played with elliot at hinckley united up until under 13's he is excellent, his technique is sublime. Don't worry, if the evidence of the first team is anything to go by, it will be coached out of him sooner or later..
lildave3 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I thought it was Pentney who was involved in the warm up at QPR and today, or was that Cisak? Can someone please fill me in? Thanks. Cisak I think.
Calum McDermott Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Do you still play for Hinckley ? NO not anymore, why?
Thracian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Looking forward to the Youth Cup. At least we go into youth games with a bit of attitude and belief.
Russell352 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 What about Chambers? He's awesome on footie manager! Can we recall Dodds back from Lincoln too?
Wezleylowski Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 What about Chambers? He's awesome on footie manager! Can we recall Dodds back from Lincoln too? You don't realise the severity of what you just did. Run for the hills y'all, Thracians a comin
Thracian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 You don't realise the severity of what you just did. Run for the hills y'all, Thracians a comin I've barely given a thought to Dodds since gave the impression that he'd rather be at Lincoln. I just think it so ironic that Dodds, surely quite close to the team at one stage last season, decided to go on long term loan and his pal Sheehan, so far from favour, refused to go and has made oer 20 appearances in our first team.
Russell352 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 How many goals has Dodds got this season ? 4. Not THAT bad I suppose considering.
SamL Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Cisak I think. Ah right. They both look the same from a distance Can't say I follow the youth team a lot but I always like to hear that they've done well. Can only be good for us if players are giving good performances at youth level but if they continue to break into the first team, its a sign that the manager isn't bringing in quality into the side. If thats happening maybe he shouldn't be manager. We'll have to wait and see.
