Bryn Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Stoke City have approached Sunderland with a view to take keeper Marton Fulop on loan. The Potters are close to agreeing a loan fee with the Black Cats for the Hungarian who has not had a look-in at the Stadium of Light this season. He has already been temporarily posted to Leicester City but has not featured since late last year for the Foxes. Tony Pulis needs to cover his bases ahead of the season's run-in and is now waiting for the paperwork to be sorted out with Roy Keane poised to sanction the move as long as the finances are sorted out between the two clubs.
Father Ted Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Fcukin Wnkaer! Bring back Fulop - A goalie that can kick!
Wezleylowski Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 As long as they pay the ridiculous price tag.
Head Honcho Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Don't blame Keane it's us who won't match their valuation of him!
Matt Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Don't blame Keane it's us who won't match their valuation of him! And I keep saying it, £3M for a young, decent GK, pays for itself in the long term. IF we bought Marton in a good team (Which hopefully we'll get together in the summer) he'd keep out so many goals, prehaps win us games, if we got promoted (Which in the state or the Premiership i'm not sure I want to get promoted, but I obviously want the best for Leicester and really promotion goes hand in hand if I want the best, e.t.c, but also posistion wise even if Marton came in and we finished 8th for example you get more money for you final league posistion - It'd pay for itself), who the fuk would be worrying about £3M. Keane is being an arse, Keane hasn't got a clue in the transfer window, but everyone seems to be making out (Including them in the club) that £3M is outragous, I think he's worth it tbh.
Father Ted Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Don't blame Keane it's us who won't match their valuation of him! Exactly. £3 million would be a decent price. He's only 24 (?), international and has a bright future and we may have blown the chance when we didn't want to pay the price.

At Pompey MM made millions by investing in players so why won't he invest in Fulop-it's baffling

I think he's worth it too. Nothing against Alnwick, mind.
lildave3 Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I can't believe people are still moaning about this.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 As much as i dont like it, Keane is well within his rights to do this!! If we dont pay the fee then what can he do?? He obviously wants to get as much for him as he can, i would personally pay it but it wont happen so there!!
sdb Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 great so if stoke go up he'll go there. they've got simonson though who's more than solid enough
Samilktray Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Theres nothing wrong with Alnwick ! If anything hes been better i feel.
Wezleylowski Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Theres nothing wrong with Alnwick !If anything hes been better i feel. Deluded
Samilktray Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Deluded Not really, im pretty sure his records just as good as Fulops

Joe. Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 So what? He's not at Leicester and he's not our player. We didn't get him and he's not coming to us. It's not like he shouldn't be allowed elsewhere.
Jack Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Football at the end of the day. He is not gonna do us any favours just because he was popular down here. Keano is doing nothing wrong, he is just trying to get the most for a player so that he has a bit more to spend.
Sods Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Fcukin Wnkaer! Bring back Fulop - A goalie that can kick! HAHAHAHAHA You have to be joking.
Lillehamring Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 i think a lot of people on here probably give fulop more credit than he deserves, i don't doubt that he is a useful keeper, but has anyone actually seen him play godlike in the premiership ... thing is, when he was with us, we were so desperate for anyone to get excited about, and people, i remember, at the time would easily overlook or excuse some of the bad games he had... move on, guys, move on...
AyewJoking Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 We still shoulda paid £3 million for him. We have a wealthy owner who wants us to be in the Premiership but he's not willing to splash the cash on a decent keeper who will only improve and maybe one day someone else will pay us even more to take him. Wheres the ambition, signing Hayles who lets face it, will never see the Premiership with us as a player.

Darkzzz_ Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 Why don't we get a championship team before making a premiership team? .... Good point actually! I would have paid the money for him to be honest, but there is other area's that we could strengthen or add some more competition to!!
AyewJoking Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 Why don't we get a championship team before making a premiership team? Sorry, I think a good goalie is very important. £3 million isnt that much for a decent young goalie IMO.
Webbo Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 If Fulop is sold to anyone it'll be for a lot less than £3million.
