Didn't go to the game, but well done Steve Howard for getting another goal, and sounded like Andy King played well.

All in all we are going up :yahoo:

I think John Solako will be in our dressing room at the moment offering to suck Stevie Howard off - he was loving him during the game.

I was a very happy bunny, unlike Mr."Sort it out Pearson" standing towards the back of the stand.

Cleverley was outstanding, as was King. They ran tonight's show with pace, challenges, passing and some brilliant skill. The opposition was weak but that shouldn't detract from a very, very assured performance all round. I am at a loss to explain Dickov's continued presence - at times you could see what he was trying to do, and it would have been good had he some energy and years in the bank, he doesn't. He's overdrawn.

Brown look to start well, Bruno was 50 good, 50% dumb.

Fryatt was roundly applauded off - and justly so.

I love it when Howard scores or has a part in a goal - his face is a picture.

Now now Daggers, they beat the biggest and bestest club in the whole wide world on Saturday and kept a clean sheet so I think they must be the new Real Madrid.

We're just the new 1970 Brazil.

Very high ratings, but justly deserved by the sounds of things. Was this our best display of the season?

For me? Yes, absolutely. Use words like commanding, dominant...hell, use a term like Champions elect! :D

We were not a class apart - we were leagues apart for the bulk of the game. The pass and move play was tear-inducing joy compared to the awful crap we've suffered over the years.

It was better than Cheltenham and the King/Cleverley partnership worked brilliantly - with positional swapping becoming a fluid process across the whole of the midfield.

The only downside is continual presence of Dickov.

As you said maybe we felt sorry for them?

Top scorers away from home now- we really are a boring side who play for 1-0 wins

Agreed, although I think a 7 is a bit generous for Lloyd.

Martin 7 - Had little to do, but claimed the ball well and his kicking was pin-point tonight.

Gilbert 7 - Solid attacking support. Always giving his man a hard time.

Mattock 7 - A solid display.

Morrison 7 - Dealt easily with everything thrown at him.

Hobbs 8 - In the past few games, he's filled Tunchev's boots.

Cleverley 8.5 - Awesome, energetic, enthusiastic, always looked to attack, opened things up and scored a good goal. Loved his celebrations.

Dyer 6.5 - Shoot! His pace is always a threat, could've scored tonight though if he'd had shot instead of being selfless.

Oakley 7.5 - Always made himself available, neat touches, nice passing.

King 7.5 - Brilliant, a goal, an assist, generally there whenever we needed him.

Fryatt 8 - Got in behind thier back line well, scored a poachers goal, nearly scored with an audacious volley, a general will to chase down everything.

Howard 9 - Because he was that good. Won everything in the air, excellent close control, nice passes to open up space, a big problem for them. I'm so glad that he scored, because he fully deserved a goal tonight. A sublime assist too.

Dickov 5 - We lost all bite when he came on.

Berner 6 - Standard Berner performance.

Brown 6 - Looks solid.

Best performance of the season, should've won by even more and i think we wouldve if Fryatt wasn't subbed, but i can understand him being rested and not risking him getting injured

David Martin 6.5 (So little to do it's hard to justify giving him any more).

Kerrea Gilbert 5.75 (Again disappointed. His close control was iffy and although he did try to support he just never seemed to pass as quickly and crisply as those around him)

Joe Mattock 6.5 (Faced quite a good challenge and did quite well. Lost out in a number of aerial challenges but supported really well going forward thus helping to provide options and an available runner for Dyer).

Jack Hobbs 7.5 (Didn't find it as easy in the air as against Northampton but was solid and showed a bit of class at times in clearing up on the left).

Michael Morrison 7.25 (Again faced a fairly threatening opponent until Brown came on and he was moved elsewhere. Did well and even looked like a footballer at times).

Matt Oakley 7.75 (The skipper made his mistakes but had a hand in a couple of the goals and never stopped working. Pearson smacked hands with him afterwards and positively hugged the guy for what was achieved and you could understand why. For an hour it was a team performance to savour.)

Lloyd Dyer 6.75 (Better, particularly in the second half when Mattock offered so much assistance and fed the passes to compliment his runs. One particular drive into the box and pull-back deserved better reward than a desperate defensive block)

Tom Cleverley 8.75 (Great goal, so close to a second with a thoughtfully placed shot and was otherwise constantly involved both as defender and attacker. Brilliant example of tireless effort showing individual brilliance allied to a natural instinct for teamwork.)

Andy King 8.5 (Super goal, vital contribution to Cleverley's goal in feeding Fryatt, so close to a spectacular second goal and, apart from one very brief spell of misplaced passes again served with distinction as the always available outlet).

Matty Fryatt 8 (Classy headed opening goal from Oakley's corner, a fearsome volley wide of the left-post, final pass for Cleverley's goal and far too much for Walsall to cope with until his departure on the hour).

Steve Howard 8.75 (Excellent again as our Mr Muscle. Super goal, composed assist and another textbook demonstration of how to hold the ball up and lay it off or flick it on to the fast-moving runners. And tonight, with Cleverley, Oakley, Dyer and King all willing in turn the runners were there and the Walsall defence couldn't cope.)

Paul Dickov 1 (People will think that a flippant mark. It's not. He played for half an hour. Marks are given for contributions made to the team effort and I really cannot think of anything. He did fashion one chance to shoot - which I've awarded the mark for - but opted out but otherwise he didn't run off Howard, didn't hold the ball, didn't feed passes to his team-mates, didn't make clever runs that gave others space, nothing. On this effort he's a blessed man indeed to still find favour).

Berner 4 (Not much better but not on long).

Wayne Brown 5 (Again not on long but what he did was fine).

Pleased with Mattock tonight, thought he was awful on Saturday but pulled his socks up and played really well I thought.

Cleverly man of the match though.

Did Cleverley play on the right and Oakley in the centre?

Yeah, all game. It's definitely the way forward to get the best out of Cleverley. He's looked a bit lost in central midfield but in a game and a half on the right wing, he's excelled. I wouldn't go as far as comparing him to Davies but he is certainly a cracking signing on the evidence of the last two games.

Looks alot more composed and wants to spray it around.

Some of Cleverley's passing tonight was top notch, and he started so many of our attacks on the night. He looked to be playing with so much more confidence tonight in a role where he had a it more freedom than when he was set in the middle alongside King.

Oakley also played well in the middle I thought, unsurprising with the way he's played this season though.
