Thracian Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Well I'd happily compare Cleverley to Davies. Someone at our club sure did well to spot the two of them. Cos both are gems. Cleverley tonight was an Ariston advert. He just went on an on displaying an appetite and enthuisiasm for the game that was thrilling to watch. In turn he'd compete for the ball, win the thing, pass it with aplomb, make himself available for a return, jink between a couple of players, chase back into deep defence, leap for headers he had no right to get near... Duracell will have him cos they don't make the sort of batteries he runs on. And what a team player too. He just never stopped helping and you don't even gets SAS veterans more alert to any eventuality. The guy was worth the ticket price on his own and it is a real credit to others that they somehow matched him or got close on the night. Cos on many occasions this season Cleverley's display would have won MoM by a distance.
StaffordFoxed Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I was a very happy bunny, unlike Mr."Sort it out Pearson" standing towards the back of the stand. I never understand that kind of supporter!!! We really where in control, but a guy at the back of the stand would almost have a heart attack when ever the Walsall players got the ball and would shout amongst others..."Close him down!!" We can't keep the ball 100% of the time...

Kilworthfox Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 "Martin! Command your area - command your f-ing area!""F-sake Pearson! Sort it out! Sort it out!" I & others get frustrated by people who watch football, but just don't understand the game. The nobbers in L1 when we go behind are always doing this & en mass we all shout them down. Were fookin 10 points clear of 2nd what do people want? Drubbings twice weekly?
Babylon Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 "sort the weather out Nigel you caaaaaant, it's all yours and Steve Howards fault"

Diddsy Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Very impressive performance certainly worth the 150 mile round trip to the game! Martin- Still a bit dodgy coming out to collect the ball but he commands his defense very well (its always good to hear your keeper in the crowd) and his kicking was good (he didnt hardly have to make a save!)- 7 Gilbert- Solid in defence didnt let his attacker have any time on the ball, good to see someone get stuck but his first touch is a bit iffy. Getting better i feel- 7 Hobbs- Becoming increasingly dominant with every game! I havent seen a striker that has really troubled him in recent times! Hes adding a more attacking element by bringing the ball into midfield!-8 Morrison- Quiet game but did a fair job wasnt to much of a challenge. Distribution to howard was accurate!-7 Mattock- One of his better games i feel, he looked a bit more confident and provided us with overlaps regularly. Simple but effective!-7 Cleverly-Turns players with ease and drives with the ball. Good finish last night rounding off one of the best performances. Not quite Mark Davis yet though. -8 King- Good to see him get a goal should of had 2! Hes in the right places and the right times to protect the defence or join in upfront. 7 Oakely- Not as effective as saturday (my M.O.M vs Northampton) but still ran the game with oakely not letting the opposition play. Did give the ball away a bit cheaply at times-6 Dyer- Seems a bit more nervy about really running at players compared to the start of the season but he keeps hold of the ball just needs a bit more end product- 6 Howard- Easily man of the match won pretty much every header and bullied there defence. Brought the midfield and fryatt into the game- 9 Fryatt- looked lost against brighton without howard but northampton and walsall games show how well they link up, he worked the channels very hard bringing the midfield into play. 7 Dickov-Please leave- 0 Brown- Not a lot to do but looked good- 6 Berner- looked like a man possessed but didnt do a lot wrong -6 Walsall ground staff-10 Walsall team and players- 1 Leicester fans- 10 If you went to tonight's 4-1 demolition job of Walsall, could you please leave your ratings at www.player-ratings.com/rate. I think he used to work for Woolworths!

Daggers Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I'll answer for Beaumont Fox (don't take this seriously) Bless - she really enjoyed the game... I'm annoyed they conceded a goal. And that they took their foot off the pedal. Could've easily been at least two more goals and it wouldn't have been a harsh scoreline.. But she must have been able to force herself to give a decent marks for one of our best performances this season? Martin 6Gilbert 6 Hobbs 6 Morrison 7 Mattock 6 Oakley 7 King 7 Cleverly 7 MOTM Dyer 5 Howard 7 Fryatt 6 Gave all three subs a 5, as tbh the work was done and the team were just coasting along by then. Brilliant! Our club really does retain the title of Stupidest Supporters for yet another season.

We can't keep the ball 100% of the time... At 4-1, I had some fella behind me who was panicing every time they attacked. It got really annoying towards the end - you hear his worry in his voice. 'What's going on Leicester?' 'This will be like Swindon again.'

It's hard adjusting this season. I wasn't at the game and watch SSN - when they scored - I was nervous!! Shocking.
