Matt Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 C'mon Orient, Cheltenham, Southend, Yeovil, and Stockport...But again if we pull our fingers out and actually start winning games we won't need to rely on these other teams. And I feel maybe it is slightly unfair that some teams play on the Friday giving them an extra day to recover to play again on the Monday rather than the teams such as us (And Leeds - So I suppose we both are in the same boat anyway)who have to play on Saturday and then Monday. However then again, could be worse could have 3 games in the space of less than a week like Leeds - I suppose that is one positive to take into that game, Although when you are winning you want all your games to keep coming, You would hope and expect a loss to come for Leeds during those 3 games though - Unfortunately I don't think their loss will come against us.
leftsideoverhere Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 C'mon Orient, Cheltenham, Southend, Yeovil, and Stockport... Is that where our season has come to? Hoping that this ragtag of failing teams does us a favour. I wonder if Pearson could get a video of yesterday's Liverpool game, and make our squad watch it three times a day between now and next weekend. There's a team that wants to win the league. Hammered their shots into the woodwork four times in the first half and kept going until the very last kick to win the match. Spirit? Fire? You bet. Watch that, and then the 'highlights' from yesterday to compare and contrast. Poor Astrid must be wondering what's happened to his world.

TBF we're not Liverpool, and never will be, but I know what you saying where spirit, fire and never giving up is concerned, but to say compare and contrast our game to Liverpool's game is abit unfair really, of course we're going to be a million miles behind Liverpool's style of play and gameplay. EDIT - And yes, our season has come to relying on other teams, Its the only way I can see us getting promoted and winning this league, I think we will get promoted and win the league (Maybe ) but through no way of our own!
Tilley Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 So, we can be second, 1 point adrift and only 4 points clear of third come kick off on Saturday. Pressure is on & I fear we're going to crumble.

Or looking on the postive but unlikley side we could be 5 points clear of second and we will all be celebrating Saturday night... ...only to be brought back to earth with a hammering against Leeds, and Peterborough winning against Millwall making the gap 2 points again (Although in a way that wouldn't be bad anyway because it dents Millwall's hopes again)

Better still, he should get the squad to watch a video of the Manyoo game. Missing half their first-choice side, and playing well below their usual standard, they still found it within themselves to snatch the most unlikely of victories. Good to see Fergie giving a youngster a chance too.
Ultra Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Given the number of players Pearson has borrowed from the big four, it's a surprise he doesn't use their training techniques..
Dr The Singh Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Given the number of players Pearson has borrowed from the big four, it's a surprise he doesn't use their training techniques.. That's because he uses training techniques used by Sikh Seperatists, which mainly involve rolling around on the floor and chucking stuff!!!
Joe. Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 If Cheltenham can get something at Peterborough they'd be my new favourite team. Monday is a massive day in League One for the promotion chasers.

I think most city fans also support cheltenham any way because of how quality their fans were at the crisp bowl in march
MC Prussian Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 I never cheered for Leyton... ... up until tonight. I'm a little bit scared should Leeds win even this one...
Matt Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Leyton Orient 1 - 2 Leeds United. Leeds had a penalty in the 60th minutes and Leyton Orient scored in the 65th, C'mon Leyton Orient!
Matt Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 Hereford 0 - 2 Brighton. When are Hereford official relegated? If we beat them Saturday? According to the Sky Sports reported Hereford look a very demoralized team.

According to the Sky Sports reported Hereford look a very demoralized team. I think they would be if results didn't go their way. That could mean they would want to raise their game, it could mean they will just want to get to the season over and done with. We shall see on Saturday I s'pose.
