Dylan Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 I'd go with: Weale Neilson ------ Morrison ------- Hobbs* ------- Berner*Oakley ------- Wellens ------ King ------- DyerFryatt --------- Howard *If Hobbs or Berner are not fit, i'd go with McGivern. If they're both unfit, i'd have to go with McGivern in centre, and O'Neill on the left, unless Brown is back. Anyone disagreeing with the same midfield and attack we used v Sheffield? I thought we played good football, just as good as we did v QPR, which is one of our best performances this season. Hopefully we can keep it up. I think only the defence will have to be thought about for tomorrow, if Hobbs and Berner are unfit. I'm confident of taking the 3 points, especially with Doncaster losing 1-0 v Coventry yesterday, after being on good form. If we play like we did against Sheffield Utd, we'll defo take the points!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 Weale Berner ------ Brown ------- Hobbs ------- Morrison Dyer ------- Wellens ------ King ------- Oakley Fryatt --------- Howard I reckon that's our strongest defence.
samjohnson Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 WealeBerner ------ Brown ------- Hobbs ------- Morrison Dyer ------- Wellens ------ King ------- Oakley Fryatt --------- Howard I reckon that's our strongest defence. This... With the way morrison played on Saturday, he deserves a place in the squad. Neilson didnt play half bad though... Yet he has 4 off games and then 1 amazing game.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 Weale Neilson Morrison Hobbs (if fit, if not Brown) Berner (if fit, if not McGivern Oakley King Wellens Dyer Howard Fryatt The midfielders and strikers pick themselves, just a few injury problems at the back.

That looks about right, but although howard is playing better, my worry is that he'll soon revert to his slugish ways. I would play gallagher instead, better player with the ball, and can link-up better with the midfield, he's also got more flair, and we need that going forward. Oakley is similar, i would have n'guesson instead. If we play like we did prior to the first goal we could be 0-2 down before we score. Its imperitive we hold onto the ball, we looked shakey in that depeartment on saturday.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 Slightly concerned at the lack of central defenders, we must have one in the academy who can at least be on the bench? If everyone is fit same team that started last night.
Father Ted Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 *Assuming Brown and Hobbs are out. Weale Nielson Morrison Berner PowellOakley King Wellens DyerHoward Fryatt Subs: Logan, Parkes, O'Neill, Adams, Gallagher, Kermorgant, N'Guessan. McGivern is not fit to wear the shirt. * Should anything else go wrong, then Howard at CB.
bigneville Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 Weale Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner (if no Hobbs - Berner at CB and McGivern at LB) Oakley King Wellens Dyer Howard Fryatt Would be suprised to see any changes from the first half side against Sheff United. Any changes would have to be based on injuries.
Koke Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 We may see McGivern-Morrison pair again. We are absolutely desperate for defenders at the moment.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 WealeBerner ------ Brown ------- Hobbs ------- Morrison Dyer ------- Wellens ------ King ------- Oakley Fryatt --------- Howard I reckon that's our strongest defence. Pretty much what I'd go with against Donny too. Oakley has looked good on the right lately, even if I was unconvinced by his presence there.

Guest Bilo Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 Oakley looked sharp yesterday, His corners are improving too. Agree. Been doing well there and see no reason to rock the boat by changing things.
Guest ttfn Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 We may see McGivern-Morrison pair again. We are absolutely desperate for defenders at the moment. Hope not. Weale Neilson Morrison Hobbs/Berner/Brown (one of them must be fit surely?!) McGivern Gallagher Wellens King Dyer Fryatt Howard Think we'll see a couple of changes just because we're kicking off 43 hours after the previous game finished. Can't see Howard or Lloyd lasting more than 65 mins, so I'd expect to see Yann, Oakley and N'Guessan at some stage.

willchafer Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 ya dont change a winning side i think so i wouldnt change midfield and attack but if either hobbs brown or berner are back they would be the only exceptions but morrison deserves his spot
Daggers Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 I love that some people can't tell right from left. How about we play this game assuming Hobbs and Berner are still injured, eh? If you are going to play teams where players can't actually take the field then I'm including Bobby Smith and Ronaldo in my starting line-up.
dimmerchant Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 He's talking to you Leicester944. Let me guess, it's another joke?
MC Prussian Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 How about a good old 3-5-2? Weale Morrison Hobbs McGivern N'Guessan Wellens King Oakley Dyer Fryatt Howard Subs: Logan, Berner, Brown, Neilson, Adams, Kermorgant, Gallagher
Daggers Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Taking it that Berner and Hobbs are injured: Weale Neilsen - Morrison - Howard - PowellOakley - King - Wellens - DyerFryatt - Kermit
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Weale Neilson Hobbs Morrison Berner Oakley Wellens King Dyer Howard* Fryatt *Let Howard rough their defenders up for sixty-odd minutes, then give Kermorgant some much needed game time.
Koke Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Goal-scorer Michael Morrison has revealed the dressing-room drama which provided the backdrop to Leicester City's excellent 2-1 Championship win over Sheffield United at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday night.City were forced into a double reshuffle as they led 2-0 at the break with Morrison expecting one new central-defensive partner – and ending up with another one instead. An early injury suffered by Jack Hobbs forced his departure at half-time and Bruno Berner was lined up as his replacement, only to pull out dramatically with a calf problem. That forced Manchester City loanee Ryan McGivern to switch from left-back to centre-half with 18-year-old Academy graduate Luke O'Neill stepping into the fray for his first League appearance, although he is normally a right-back. The re-organised City back-line conceded after just a minute of the re-start, but then repelled the United threat to secure their seventh home win of the campaign. "It was a bit of a shame to concede such an early goal at the start of the second half but it took us a few minutes to get used to each other and it was difficult," said Morrison, whose opening goal for City was also his first of the campaign. "Luke knew only a few seconds before the second half that he was playing and it was a bit of a slow start but I think people will understand that." Morrison and McGivern have just nine League starts between them this season and O'Neill's only other outings were last season in the Carling Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Robbie Neilson, the other member of the City back four, has made 15 starts. "I don't think many people would have predicted what was going to happen, I'm not sure how many times Ryan has played at centre-half or Luke at left-back but I thought we got to grips with things and looked like a solid unit," said Morrison. "We all have to play well to keep our shirt and I guess that's one of the reasons why we are doing well." City's outstanding display against the Blades earned them a two-goal reward at the break with Morrison opening the scoring after a 25th-minute set-piece as he capitalised on an error from United's goalkeeper Mark Bunn . Bunn, one of six keepers used by City last season, had made a superb save to tip over a Morrison pile-driver but flapped at the resulting corner and the former Cambridge United defender pounced at the near-post. Morrison said: "I don't think the bench were too happy when they saw me shaping up to shoot but it was a decent strike and I was quite pleased." Matty Fryatt also struck from the penalty spot and Morrison agreed with the general concensus that this was arguably City's best first-half display of the campaign. "We got the ball down and looked dangerous. We always looked likely to score. Lloyd Dyer was a real threat but I think all the lads felt good out there," he said City are up to fourth place going into today's clash at Doncaster and Morrison added: "We're probably in a higher position than many thought but you can't argue from the number of games we've played that we aren't up there on merit. "Now we've got to go to Doncaster and keep ourselves up there. "It's another tough game and we'll have to look at the team we can put out. We've steered clear of injuries and now we've got three centre-halves injured (Berner, Hobbs and Wayne Brown) so we'll have to see how we are." Link
davieG Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 From the Merc Bulgarian international Aleksandar Tunchev has been out with knee problems since the end of August, while Wayne Brown was ruled out before kick-off on Saturday with a lower-back problem and has been joined on the treatment table by Jack Hobbs (dead-leg) and Bruno Berner (calf).
Fox92 Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 With Hobbs, Berner, Brown and Tunchev out then I am not sure if O'Niell will start.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 With Hobbs, Berner, Brown and Tunchev out then I am not sure if O'Niell will start. Why not? If McGivern plays at CB who will play left back? I'd like to see Powell but doubt that will happen so O'Neill will most probably start there. Fingers crossed though that either Hobbs or Brown are now fit.
