How we stack up

Recommended Posts

Borrowed from a Cardiff forum, it makes interesting reading to see where clubs have come from and how they've performed during the summer.

It is striking how some almost seem to be embracing relegation from the off. Those who have gone the Scottish route, those who've shipped out a stack of players who've choked across seasons and those who are holding out for a mass of loans.

And don't Cov just stand out!

Peterborough are going down with a record low I think. Can't see 'Boro doing much either. Michael Brown will fit in nicely at Leeds. Cardiff could still be a danger, made a few decent signings.

Ipswich look like the ones that will be most improved this year!!!

They're going to be very strong if they gel.

It'll be interesting to see how many from Scotland adjust too.

With Forest shipping so many out and Boro not taking any in you wonder how it will effect them as well.

<long list>

You probably don't need that post?

Ipswich are my dark horses for promotion.

I think so too. Say what you like about Bowyer, but he is a battler and will do really well at this level.

See what Cardiff said:

Yes, Leicester have made quite a few signings but i don't see anything special in them & as for signing Schmeichel they must be very desperate for a keeper.
Leicester may fail as we did last year buying so many individuals.
Leicester have confirmed the signing of michael Johnson on loan from man city, that is one hell of a signing!! Sven isn't messing about, they are looking strong and will have some serious strength in depth!!

Middlesbrough have also signed Malaury Martin on a free.

I think the promotion battle is going to be very interesting this year, quite a few teams have strengthened over the summer. Guess it'll say a lot about our team if we get promoted this season!

You sicken me.

Thankyou - that's probably the most I will achieve today - I'm not sure it's worth going to work now.

See what Cardiff said:

Am I wrong or have cardiff signed as many 'individuals' as we have?

A strange comment.

They do look strong to be fair.

Depends which team is wearing the most

Blimey there are some incredibly strong teams out there - Cardiff and Ipswich could be lethal! :sweating:

Cardiff have lost a lot of players from last season though.

Bellamy, Bothroyd, Chopra and Olifinjana will be big losses.

It would be good to have an in's and out's list - I can't keep track!

Tell me about it, it's like somebody's installed a revolving door at Cardiff. lol

It's hard to say what they'll do, their team doesn't look quite as strong as it did last year in spite of the signings but Mackay did a good job at Watford. I'm not 100% convinced by them and think play-offs would be an achievement.

Ipswich will do well though, they'll be there or thereabouts.
