Phube Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 Ha Ha Ha........ P.s. Arsenal fact of the week: Number of goals scored by an English player last season = 2 Both Sol Campbell, both against Everton!
Matt Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 They have an English player good enough to play for England (According to Arsene Wenger) but Wenger only just plucked up the courage to actually play this player. Good enough for England but at the time not played a game for Arsenal...Yeah that makes sense.
Thracian Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 They'll be picking him again by the sound of the impact he had in the last 17 minutes.
Nationwider Posted 19 August 2006 Posted 19 August 2006 England were shit in the World Cup. France were great. I'll defend AW's right to play eleven Frenchmen, or eleven Mongolians for that matter. Why should English clubs be obliged to play English players? Would it matter if there were no English players at all in the Premiership? Would it diminish the product? Would it lessen the support for each club? If RK found eleven decent overseas players this season, I'd welcome them into our side with open arms.

A valid opinion, and you have the right to express it (especially as you kind own the site 'n' all...) it's just that some of us believe the opposite... Going to extremes, I would prefer a team full of players born within 20 miles of the stadium!! But that ain't gonna happen... And anyway it's not just about the foreign issue (though it play it's part!) I just can't stand Arsenal as a club, the fans, or the way the media treats them... completely irrational I know, but it's just the way I am... So unless the thread get deleted.... I'll be coming on here with my anti-Arsenal views and mocking everytime they slip up!!

Because theres enough for a team but because we have alot of foreigners in the English game now thats play are part.

I'll be coming on here with my anti-Arsenal views and mocking everytime they slip up!! I don't own the site, Phube! Far too much work. I just do a bit of housekeeping from time to time. I'd certainly never delete a thread because I don't agree with it. That's not moderating. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on the Arsenal thing. Like you say, you just don't like them, just like I'll always dislike Man Utd more than anyone else in football. I like AW, despite his temporary lapses in eyesight/memory. His teams plays superb football, IMO. But its catch 22, England are shit...why? Because theres enough for a team but because we have alot of foreigners in the English game now thats play are part. Ditto Matt. I wouldn't really want to see a Premiership completely full of foreign players. But because of the money Sky has invested, the attractions of living in the UK and the freedom of movement/employment that the EU now allows, we've got to accept that the Prem will be mainly populated by foreign players, for better or worse. The squad we took to the World Cup wasn't shit, admittedly. Sven's tactics were. That's a different thread done a milion times over, so I'll back down on that one! You don't need 20 clubs each with 20 Englishmen to make a good England team. I'm sure that Beckham and Scholes would look to the likes of Cantona as a huge influence, as Walcott probably will do with Henry, Pires etc. It's not as if the Premiership has prevented the talents of world class players (with flair) such as Gerrard, Joe Cole and Rooney developing either.
Phube Posted 23 August 2006 Author Posted 23 August 2006 Thought for the day: Arsene Wenger wants to sell The English Ashley Cole and replace him with the French William Gallas!!! He just wont stop, will he!!??
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Thought for the day: Arsene Wenger wants to sell The English Ashley Cole and replace him with the French William Gallas!!! He just wont stop, will he!!?? Are there Ashley Coles and William Gallases of all nationalities? Maybe we could sign the Togolese Ashley Cole and the Surinamese William Gallas.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Are there Ashley Coles and William Gallases of all nationalities? Maybe we could sign the Togolese Ashley Cole and the Surinamese William Gallas. They are both overated.
Phube Posted 23 August 2006 Author Posted 23 August 2006 Whose arse is phubes bashing? Manwells? Too many to write on here!!
City_4_Life Posted 26 August 2006 Posted 26 August 2006 Come on Man City!!!! Well Man City won 1-0 with a Joey Barton goal.
Stevosevic Posted 26 August 2006 Posted 26 August 2006 No title for them this year! excellent, the English Premiership is likely to go to a team with English players in.
Phube Posted 27 August 2006 Author Posted 27 August 2006 Just seen the result, out last night!! And all I have to say is: HA HA HA!! GOING DOWN, GOING DOWN!!!!!!

I watched Blackburn today and their foreign defenders. To think some English defender has probably been denied a career because of those.
Ultra Posted 27 August 2006 Posted 27 August 2006 Key work there is "decent". I watched Blackburn today and their foreign defenders. To think some English defender has probably been denied a career because of those. Not necessarily - they could have been picked up by lower league clubs. In theory this should result in standards rising in the lower leagues. But what we see week in week out suggests the opposite is actually happening...

To think some English defender has probably been denied a career because of those. "Decent" could naturally include overseas players like Wesolowski or Sheehan. I'd like to think that every signing RK makes will be an improvement on what we've got (ie, straight into the first-team), regardless of nationality.
Phube Posted 1 September 2006 Author Posted 1 September 2006 There goes Aresenal's last British first team regular!!! I hear they're relocating to Northern France next year!!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 September 2006 Posted 1 September 2006 Not exactly worth starting a new thread about this and seeing as this one has Phube in the title; Phube - are you protractedly beginning an assault on longest signature ever?

Phube Posted 6 September 2006 Author Posted 6 September 2006 The only way they can get English players in the team... (no wonder he's only the reserve keeper!!) Asenal's England contingent might grow!!!
