Steve McMannaman

One of my mates told me that he saw Steve McMannaman coming out from the Walkers Stadium car park in his Ferrari.

Im not too sure why we need another midfielder but he does have alot of talent and would be a great acquisition to our squad if it turns out that he does sign.

What do all you lot think about it?

I doubt it very much, but.... I know everyone will say "he's to old" etc etc but at this level I think he could easily do it, he is a quality player just not what he used to be. But seriously doubt he will sign for us!

Can he still afford a Ferrari on what he does.

Talented he certainly is but does anyone have the faintest idea what he's going to do - especially the lads he's playing with?.

That said, certainly lift the profile a bit. Any chance he'd bring his mate Robbie Fowler along with him. Still think Fowler's got something to offer with the right management.

hello people, thought i'd make my first post on here. McM can definately afford a ferrari still as he owns half of liverpool, might not sound like much but apparantly it is worth something. i would imagine if he is to join any club it would be a newly promoted one unless he really wanted a 'challenge'

I'd like us to sign McManaman as long as he is on a reasonable wage. I know he is inconsistent but he does have a natural ability that has been missing at Leicester for quite some time.

Bloody right he can, during his pomp at Liverpool he and Fowler had very good advisors and they got into the property game in London, Cheshire and Liverpool. He might not be the Duke of Westminster but he and his family are sorted for life no worries.

Oh and no he won't turn up at Leicetser.

As I've heard it the plan is for both McManaman and Fowler to spend their last playing years at City and to have forards coaching imput.

During their stay they are going to take their full coaching qualifications with a view to moving on into management as a partnership.

Knew they couldn't start at the top but didn't want to start at the bottom so took a cut in wages to gain guaranteed experience at Leicester so that it would be easy to move into and onto a big club as management when the time comes.

Trouble is I only heard this from a voice within my annoyingly imaginative mind. Mind you, stranger things have happened.

He was one of my favourite players, class player back in the day when i started getting into football.

Having said that, and answering with my head rather than heart, i'd say no. Now he's moved into the centre having grown older it's not what we need, doesn't really have the pace to play on the right, unless that's the side Levein wants to go narrow on. He's got his injury problems too.

It goes against everything CL has suggested - he would bleed the coffers dry and not be arsed at all, rubbish signing IMO, keeping Gillespie would've been better.

Even talking about us signing McManaman is laughable. He was on massive money at Man City and no doubt at Real too. He could retire very happily now and I think he'd rather do that then play in the Championship. This is a player that has won the Champions league remember. Really is silly season.

dont think hes what levein is looking for - lack of commitment worries me - cant imagine he'd have his heart in it - notorious for being a money grabber....he's hardly true blue like our kid dion!!!

Leicester City are ready to rival Norwich for Midfielder Steve Mcmannaman.

Foxes boss Craig Levein is keen to add experience to his squad over the summer and see's the former Real Madrid man as a good option.

Recent reports claim that the Liverpoodlian is a target for Leicester, with Mcmannaman yet to find a club after being released by Man City.

The once Champions league winner is struggleing to find a club with his high wage demands but Leicester would be a good option for him with a coach role available.

The left sided player has said "There have been a few clubs interested, I have had a chat with Ben (Thatcher) and he speaks very highly of Leicester and I am looking foward to meeting Craig (Levein) this week."

But while Levein may hold an interest, he could baulk at the money demanded by the former Liverpool man.
