Not sure if Marti is being forced to play the senior players, but if I was him I would drop a few completely out and risk a backlash from them. Jakub Ricardo Nelson Okoli Thomas James Ramsey Page Fatawu Ayew Monga -
We dont know the expectations the board have set him. He may not have the luxury of a rebuild. Instant return may be what he has been told which is impossible. Piper on RL did highlight his worries after Portsmouth that he isn't necessarily getting the tactics across. I fear the egos are switching off again unfortunately.

Not surprised by line up. Ayew played quite decent there the other night. Soumare adding physicality in midfield. Ricardo couldn't play twice in 3 days.
-
He has lost once in 10 league games. Ok a few too many draws, but not to be losing every other game is better for morale in my opinion. Need to just get the team putting the ball in the net twice a match rather than once. I think he has made a good start and some reaction on here towards his position is way over overboard.

Freshen up a little bit with quick turnaround and some knackered after intl. Jakob Hamza Okoli Vesty Thomas Soumare Winks Fatawu Ramsey Ayew Daka

Played some good stuff 1st half. 2nd half Portsmouth put them under pressure alot more and we got unsettled. Lack of a goal scorer let us down again. Story of the season so far.
-
Akinbyi and Benjamin just about pip it for me.
-
Many of Martin O Neil's signings were scoffed at. How many times did he prove people wrong.

Joy.

Eventually got it right with us. Saved us from obscurity and passed on the baton at the correct stage. RIP Milan.

Another draw in the Championship. 2 bang average sides to match another load of them in this league.
-
Would mean new director of football....possibly?
-
Stepped down or ushered away. Regardless, who will hold Rudkins hand on negotiating big deals?
-
Was half arsed in my opinion. Seems even worse with that bloody mask thing. Can we not hide it so he can't medically take part for a week or two until his jaw heels?
-
Cov looking like the team to beat at the min. Another 38 games yet. Long way to go.
-
We don't need to pick 9 subs. Pick 5 plus keeper and let some of these rot.

Jakub Ricardo Nelson Okoli Thomas James Winks Fatawu Ramsey Monga Carranza Get the fckers out the team that dont want to/ deserve to wear the shirt.

Please delete this thread big brother.

Subs tonight really put us on the back foot. His poorest game so far.
-
Weakened the team on the hour. Midfield gone to shit.
-
Don't get the negativity on here. Win tonight at home and we are challenging the top 2. Positivity please. I think some people expecting it to be like Maresca 2 years ago. That squad was exceptional for this level. We have made a solid start in my opinion, just need to push on in next 2 now.

We dont know what the remit is between Marti and the board. As we know, it is radio silence. The gaffer may not have the luxury of just playing the kids and building for the future (as much as we would like to see youth given a chance.) The expectation may be results and he can't afford to experiment too much especially with points deduction likely round the corner. Nelson is a strange one, as demonstrated he is good enough at Oxford last season. Was quite concerning not on the bench even, but maybe fitness concerns still. He will get a chance through injury suspension to others later on. He then must take it. I'm confident enough in Marti and the squad that we will win the next 2 and be in top 3 going in to next break.

Jakob Hamza Okoli Vesty Thomas Winks James Fatawu Ayew Mavididi Daka Ricardo to come off the bench if required. Rest with Preston in mind. Faes dropped after a poor performance. Soumare to drop out too.

Last night and against Cov were tough matches. I think all 3 will be top 6 come the end of the season.
-
Last season we saw Faes and VK watch the ball and let it bounce under pressure rather than just dealing with it and it leading to goals. Last night reminded me why neither should be on the pitch. Faes nearly messed up at the letting it bounce on the 6 yard line and VK let a diagonal ball drift over him and beaten. Ball watching rather than tracking the man.
