  1. Solid attendance for a Tuesday night. Looks like about “29,500” to me.
  2. Certainly sounded like it on this stream.
  3. Change of shape at the back or sticking some square pegs in round holes?
  4. Two editions, one with a “longest champo goal” patch on it, one without.
  5. He could get a red for accidentally elbowing someone pulling out of a tackle.
  6. From Yes, Minister: Jim Hacker: When a country is going downhill, it is time for someone to get into the driving seat, and put his foot on the accelerator.
  7. Our recruitment team have signed some absolute crap in recent seasons, but every so often they unearth a hitherto undiscovered gem. Where on earth did they find this lad?
  8. Doctor Leicester here to help you break your dry streak.
  9. Daka’s taken out a defender without even tackling him. That’s why he’s better than Ayew.
  10. Think I saw a chap with no legs. Straight swap with Ricardo.
  11. Need to bring in Ayew to do some falling over, maybe get us a few free kicks.
  12. I mean… we wanted to see some fight, but two reds in two matches is a bit much.
  13. ARE YOU ****ING SHITTING ME?
  14. Quick; fire up the merch machine, it’s another Fatawu get out of jail free card goal!
  15. Yes, he absolutely seemed to have done so.
  16. Stol probably needed taking out of the firing line, so that’s fine. Ayew punished for his bollocks penalty last week, that’s fine too. Changes at CM/CB/GK all at once is a bit of a frightener, although I suppose that was potentially somewhat inevitable with the injuries and suspensions in two of those positions. Let’s just hope there’s actually some decent effort and energy from them. Preferably for the full 90.
  17. After winning the FA Cup we bet the house on securing Champions League football. We signed plenty of players on similar wages to the established squad and made no major sales to keep the books balanced. We did so by signing Daka, Bertrand, Vestergaard, Soumare - and the stories about the wages they were signed on are well known at this point… We bloated the squad, with players on high wages. The seeds were sewn that summer when we gambled on Rodgers getting us to the CL. Not selling a player was the lazy option - rather than refresh the squad, just add to its numbers. The manager and the team failed to meet those objectives, but the club collectively put us into a tricky financial and subsequent playing situation - by mismanaging the budget the summer of 2021. The inability to give Rodgers his demanded refresh comes down to the decisions of the previous summer (and failure to secure the CL monies that the gamble banked on). Rodgers and that squad should never have been relegated. That was a limp, pathetic relegation, but they weren’t solely responsible for the mess we find ourselves in. The mismanagement started before the relegation, and while it may not have directly led to the relegation, it absolutely has to be a factor in our horrid financial situation.
  18. I wonder if we’ve managed to sign the wrong bloke. Does Chelsea have a Richard Du John on their books or something? Their squad is so gigantic there’s bound to be a few with similar names.
  19. I’m amazed nobody has mentioned Elvis Hammond yet. Short memories.
  20. Only if they have the game to raise in the first place. Scant evidence of that.
  21. Offering an arm around the shoulder or a firm hand… so who’s getting smacked first?
  22. Is it too late for a transfer embargo to be imposed?
