Decent chance of a final between two never-winners. Which would be the first time that's happened since 1970.

I was thinking the same thing. If they want to pivot away from Europe or appease the Russians then fine, but then no more support for their imperial adventures, no more British and European troops dead for regime change in the Middle East. Unless maybe DJ Vince comes and says please and thank you like a good boy.

He's a great lad. And Welsh culture and language should be far more promoted in Britain considering it is the island's oldest.

Justice after Maguire's goal in the 4th round. Hopefully Fulham can go all the way.

Yes and I think that theme of the rest of the world crashing into our little idyll - through terrorism, immigration or simply seeing more of what's happening in the world through social media - is a big driver of the anxiety and neo reactionary politics we see particularly in the Anglosphere.
-
MAGA I think comes from American paranoia. Paranoia that someone (the monarchy, Catholics, socialists) is coming to take away your hard won Anglo-Prot freedoms. Along with the belief that the poor and disadvantaged simply need to work harder. Brexit is a manifestation of Britain's Europhobia and sense of superiority which has some of the same Anglo-Protestant roots as America's politics, as well as from our previous role as global hegemon. This is probably just my thing though in the same way that climate change is Mac's thing and Lucy Letby is Wymsey's thing. I'm still upset at the reformation.
-
Certainly. I think in Britain we underestimate cultural and historic factors when analyzing the current trajectories of major countries. Brexit and MAGA being examples of that along with Putin's Russia.

Many of those things have been part of Russian culture for centuries, including during the USSR

Wellens has something of the Pearson about him. Northern, a bit abrasive, seems to instill good team spirit, plays positive football. I always like the idea of ex players coming back to manage. I suppose Kelly would be the last one we had? And before than McLintock. Maybe not the best precedent thinking about it...

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
bovril replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Something quite poignant about going back and reading the first few pages of a thread dedicated to a player or manager who has rapidly fallen from grace. -
Of course. But I think 10-15 years ago he might have thought about it all.
-
This is very cynical of me but maybe he thought it'd be deliberately misinterpreted by rage merchants on social media

It's like the four Tory PM's in 6 years. It's not really going to change anything when the policies themselves are what's causing the problems.

Agree with the above, it was maybe the worst I've experienced. Almost total silence at times, although the stadium doesn't help I guess.
-
A lot of the guys round me spent most of the game goading the whu fans including millwall chants (bit weird but each to their own). It was quite a strange atmosphere at least where I was. I feel like there was more unrest in 22/23.

Probably the most depressing experience I've had watching Leicester. Hate that stadium so much. Players simply do not care. General feeling of apathy throughout the away end. Grim.
