  1. Wonderful stuff. And people continue to denigrate our cup competitions.
  2. It's very American - short bursts of violence requiring minimal attention span, and plenty of stoppages to consume junk food. What amuses me is how Americans intellectualize it so much, when it basically requires memorizing a series of set plays.

  4. Sack Van Nistoroy sounds like a humorous character from a Thackeray novel
  5. It is hilarious that Newcastle, mahoosive Newcastle, haven't won a trophy in 70 years. Would actually quite like Liverpool to win the Carabao just to keep that going.
  6. You're right of course. But I can't think of another industry in England where it is possible to make such awful "mistakes", over and over again, and still keep your job. Especially an industry with so much money involved. That goes for players, managers and officials.
  7. I won't comment on the 'corrupt' stuff because I know it touches a few nerves on here, but yes it was one of the worst decisions I've seen. It was a dead ball situation, and really quite easy for a competent linesman to get right. I can only guess that he's overused to VAR, which is pathetic in itself but wouldn't surprise me at all. And I know some of us revelled in Cov's defeat in the 1/2 final last season but there was not sufficient evidence to overturn their goal either.

  10. Cheated out of it.
  11. Well I for one am gutted. Always shit to get knocked out of the cup especially to be cheated out of it
  12. Probably yes. Utter twats
  13. You need competent linesmen ffs
  14. People are going to be talking about var but the linesman has a ****ing job to do
  15. Gutted
  16. ****ing offside And we're out
  17. we are going to win the ****ing cup

  21. "Thomas was credited with the assist in the cup final but..." Christ this guy talks some bollocks.
  22. He scored important goals but I wouldn't say he is a big game player. Some of his best form came during the time there were no crowds, and in the actual cup final his nerves showed. Having said that it's difficult to really gauge because he was in and out of the team for us. I do love him overall.
  23. Monga's Blue Mongies
  24. Disagree. At least when you're getting beaten in the Champ nobody outside of those two clubs really cares. And you know that those clubs' fortunes can change the next season. Non 'big 6' clubs in the Premier League are basically seen by the media and the Premier League's global fanbase as cannon fodder to be dealt with by the big boys every six months. We exist merely as dartboards for superstars like Salah, Haaland, etc. Give me a 1-2 reverse at Stoke over that any day. But each to their own of course.
  25. I think being bad in the Champ is better than being bad in the Prem, for reasons outlined by Basildon above. I don't think there's anything much worse than being bad in the Prem. I know a few people are indifferent about tonight's game but I'd much rather watch the FA Cup at the moment than us in the Premier League. It is totally joyless.
