  1. That's true does get a bit livelier around that time, especially this time of year I bet. Can't be as bad as that Apres Lounge (is that still there?) I think I went in there on a Friday evening around this time last year, was horrendous, squashed in like sardines and couldn't hear a thing.
  2. Queen of Bradgate just around the corner - not been in for a while but usually a good crowd in there and decent selection of beers.
  3. I watched this Friday night, although left with a lot of questions I thought it was alright! 6.5/10
  4. Tbf yeah I get your point. But considering they are one of the big boy supermarkets who are rinsing people during a cost of living 'crisis', if you're then going to splooge a wad on Buble for your adverts at least make them funny or entertaining. For some reason they ground (is that the right word?) my gears so I came here to vent.
  5. The Asda Christmas adverts with Michael Buble in. They are so crap. It feels like Asda's marketing department were so shocked that he actually agreed to do their adverts that they didn't know what to do with him. You can also kind of see it in his eyes that he's wondering why tf he agreed to do them as well.
  6. You don't just suddenly become a crap footballer at his age, I agree with a few others here in that he's not been managed properly by us. Shown a lot of promise but he a) should have had a decent loan spell a couple of seasons ago instead of jumping straight through to the first team and b) physically he should have spent the last couple of summers bulking up and working on his strength. Showed enough during Covid that there was a player in there but he's regressed and seems like he tries too hard now but doesn't have the physicality to cope with it. 2024 is all on him to recoup his career and I wish him all the best being a local Syston/Leicester lad. Should be supported being one of our own not dumped on.
  7. Not played it before but got the Witcher 3 with all the DLC etc. during Black Friday. Heard a lot of people say it's in their top 5 games of all time so excited to give it a whirl.
  8. You'd have been committed if you'd made this shout last season but you're spot on. He's been brilliant this season and instrumental at both ends like you say. Well played Vesty.
  9. The whole pre-order thing with games doesn't make sense to me anymore - even if somehow it did physically sell out everywhere you can still then go and buy a digital version on whatever you're playing it on. "Yeah but you get a really cool exclusive outfit for your player if you give them your money 6 months before you need to!"
  10. I was listening to a podcast with a former Leicester player on, I can't think which one it was but think it might have been Matt Elliott, and a few times he mentioned Ian Marshall as being a bit of an odd ball at the time he was playing for us.
  11. Underpass aside, it's really not compared to other areas. St. Margaret's has had how much spent on it, the area between the bus station and Belgrave Gate has been opened up and had loads spent on it, Creation has been knocked down and will have some brand new flats built there. I'd rather they took the £12m and sorted out the car park on Abbey Street or Lee Circle or one of the many other actual grotesque areas of the city.
  12. What a waste of money. £12m on something that I don't think we need. Even at the busiest of times this junction isn't that bad, there's plenty more around the city that this could be spent on. Agree with blocking up/filling in the underpasses though.
  13. Just read up on the play-offs as I forgot the nations league was involved. Its bloody confusing but I get it now.
  14. If, and it's a big if, Wales beat Turkey tonight (I'm assuming Croatia beat Armenia) will they be in with a shout for the playoffs at all? Not sure how it works but do they have to win to even have a chance of that?
  15. To everyone else out there getting bombarded with emails and promotions offering Black Friday deals on everything from your toilet brush to your kitchen sink, stay strong out there. A disgrace how this has picked up over the last 4/5 years from the US. In all seriousness though do stay strong - I know a lot of people who are either already in debt or who have problems spending more than they should and the pressure to buy and spend this time of year is absolutely relentless. You'll be seeing TV adverts, adverts online, on social media, emails coming in, texts from some companies as well as people talking about it in everyday life - don't feel like your missing out by now buying stuff you don't need now. As soon as BF is over, we'll have the same again for Christmas and then come January you'll feel all the better for not getting in to debt buying crap you didn't need or presents for people that perhaps you didn't need to get or overspend on. Wasn't sure where to post this but just thought sometimes you need a reminder that it's important not to fold to corporate pressure to spend for FOMO.
  16. Don't get me started on Turkish Delight. I feel like a handful of people got together and decided it would be a great joke to tell everyone they like it. Might as well dip a bar of soap in chocolate.
  17. Caramel wafer all day, the tea cakes are basically just glorified wagon wheels
  18. I've noticed this quite a bit, almost like one of the developers has said "let's stir some s**t up this season!" I started the game unemployed and then took the Las Palmas job in Spain, at the beginning of the season I said that I wanted us to be competitive in the Cup, not win it or make the final just be competitive, and they all kicked off and said I was expecting too much, morale all down and now my 3 best players don't want to renew contracts, save has gone out the window.

    Houses

I'm sorry but you're not going to get any sympathy from anyone apart from other landlords and owners of multiple properties. "Woe is me, I'm not making as much money as I used to from my rental properties!" Hopefully you made your money while the sun was shining but rightfully so the rental market is a joke and it should be harder and more difficult to take advantage of it for landlords.
  20. After finishing it I think I might have been a bit harsh saying he was a narcissist, I ended the podcast feeling a little bit sorry for him in some ways (mad I know as he's a millionaire who's basically had 5 years getting paid shed loads to not do a lot). I think being in football from the age of 7 or 8 or whatever it was, you can tell he is basically not prepared or educated on how to behave or act when he's no longer being put on a pedestal by everyone around him. When the wheels seemingly came off at Chelsea he decided he would just go in every day to be the 'clown' as he put it, almost like he was rebelling as he wasn't one of the golden boys at that club, from there on out he felt like he was above going to places like Burnley and Reading and mostly because he's probably been told how amazing he is all his life and only ever gone upwards in his career. Hope he finds something to focus on now in retirement and maybe in a few years when he's had time to sit back and look at his career a bit more he can appreciate the opportunity he's had in life.
  21. I looked at my most recent bill to see how much my energy bills had come down since they reduced the cap on October 1st, the daily rate has indeed come down a little, however the daily standing charge for both Electricity and Gas seems to have gone up by the exact amount in pence that my daily energy use has come down by. Is this a one-off or are we all just mugs?

    Youtube

Genuine question, why do you pay for YouTube? Is it just to get rid of ads?
  23. If 6 months ago you’d have said Jonny Evans would be starting for United while Rafa Varane is on the bench you’d have been taken away by men in white coats.
  24. About halfway through the podcast and I have to say he's quite clearly a little deluded and a bit of a narcissist. At the beginning, said he was retiring as he'd had no offers, then said he'd had offers from loads of Championship clubs. Then he said when he joined Reading he wasn't fit but after 6 months when he'd got fit he said he was good. Then he said after the season finished he needed to get fit again but couldn't understand why a club hadn't given him a chance. Why didn't he just keep himself fit if he knew it would take him 6 months to do so like at Reading? He then couldn't believe no teams would give him a chance but again said he'd had loads of offers from the Championship. Was he seriously waiting for a Premier League team to come in? And did he seriously think he didn't have to stay fit as he'd get fit at said new club? Can't work the guy out. I have absolute respect for him for the few years he had here, played some of the most enjoyable football to watch in the Championship in 2013/14 and one of the legends of 2015/16 but he can only have himself to blame for all the other pitfalls.
