Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Gubbins replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
The sheer awfulness of the Championship means we probably will have one of the strongest squads and 'challenge', for the play offs at least, almost by default. But it will still be a squad that will be demoralised from a season of constant defeats in most of which we will not have laid a finger on the opponents and full of players that we can't shift and probably don't care or bizarrely think they're above the championship. Burnley and Sheff U also have proper, champ experienced managers as opposed to the clueless rookie we have. That's without even mentioning the league coming after us for psr nonsense. It's hardly beyond the realms of possibility that we finish outside the top 6. -

By the end of the season rvn will be down their statistically with our worst ever managers and his structure and philosophy that some wax on about just looks to me like a poorly executed possesion based 4231. We can't go into a new season with the same demoralised team and manager who probably wont even acquire 25 points. And your banking on him being some sort of master talent spotter cos if he's not you're largely relying on serial failures glover and rudkin for new players, assuming we can sign anyone full stop. We need as fresh a start as possible next season and I see no advantage in keeping a guy who at best will have got 3 or 4 mostly fortunate wins in around 2 thirds of a season. Also he picked Ward against wolves despite already having seen 45 minutes of the hopeless twat against Newcastle. Pretty much a sackable event on its own! -

Not got the time to list them all but il do the first 5 if you like. £1 £2 £3 £4 £5 -
Why? What has he actually done that will make other teams desperate to get him? Lots of goals? No. Assists? No. Regularly the best player on the pitch? No. Hell he's not even consistently the best player in our team. And our team is garbage!

Surely it's Glovers signings that are to blame. I'm not having that Cooper specifically demanded all of Reid ayew and skipp. Glover gets off far lighter than he should. The only player recruited since he's been here who wel make a profit on is hermansen. He's yet another one who needs booting out. -

It's been such disastrous form though I don't think you can keep him for next season. It's akin to Derby keeping Jewell when they went down and they started the next season in exactly the same way and he was eventually sacked. It's also likely wel be stuck with the vast majority of crap players that RvN has been failing to get any tune out of. We have got to ditch him at the end of the season and get a proper manager in. -
Nowhere near as certain as most of you that el khanouss gets sold. He's hardly set the league aflame with his performances and in fact I'd say the main reason he looks decent for us is because the rest of the team is so bloody atrocious. We'd certainly not get the 30+m that some suggest.
-
Nah. He was still crap. Scored hardly any goals and basically just stood upfront, waved his arms, gave away free kicks and knocked the ball on from hoofs (mainly to the opposition). Was damn good in the Cardiff 2nd leg though, il give him that.
-
Steve Howard outside of league one was an absolutely terrible player. Andy King was extremely mediocre ability wise.

My left b*llock with a smiley face drawn on

If we've not got a new second keeper by the time next season starts I can totally see them enquiring if he's found a new club yet. Which obviously he won't. Cos he's Shite!
-
Don't think he's playing anything like Cooper's side. That was highly defensive and risk averse and whilst it was pretty crap it kept us in games and earned a few draws. RvN is far more like last seasons possession style and whilst that leads to some people saying we look better under him we now are regularly pummeled by pretty much everyone because the players can't play possession football at this level. It's prob not worth sacking cos we're down anyway but he can't still be our manager next season. He's shown nothing worthwhile.
-
Stay or go we will be in the Championship next season but if he stays he needs the boot as soon as the season ends. Hel be far too gone with the players (near all of whom wel be stuck with) and fans by that point to lead our half arsed promotion push next year.
-
Oh Skipps not even close to 20m and he's getting worse with every appearance. However in last years decent spurs side I doubt he was anywhere near as bad. That's where the Andy King comparison comes in. You stick him into the title side or the resurgent great escape side and he looks like a competent pl player. Stick him into the the post title hangover side he becomes a nothing player who eventually looks inferior to amartey.
-
Nah. You pay 20m for post title Andy King and stick him into this sad excuse for a side he'd be getting dogs abuse.
-
No it's horrible and depressing. Adding our defence passing it between themselves for long periods before inevitably losing it would just add boredom and frustration to the mix.
-
Maybe a few extra points but we'd still be going down. Signings would have been different but would that injury prone italian we were after a year ago and presumably another cb who could pass but not defend make us any better? Also it would be dull as f#@k!
-
First half was drab but we pretty much matched them and didn't look too terrible. Second half though... Jesus! Fulham upped their game ever so slightly and just blew us away. I know it's a cliche and overused but I really don't see where we get another win from as we've played a crap team and a fairly standard team in the past week and lost convincingly to both. Fans seem to have finally turned (2 years to late) at least. RvN can stay or go I really don't care. Itl make no difference. Getting rid of Rudkin is probably the only way optimism can be rekindled in the fanbase right now.
-
The fact it is both pointless sacking or keeping him pretty much sums up how finished the team and club are.

What Game Are You Playing At The Moment ?
Gubbins replied to LeicesterBran's topic in Music and Gaming
I'm currently on my first BG3 playthrough. Once you get your head round the controls it is absolutely spectacular and will def stand up to multiple playthroughs. It is essentially DnD in computer game form so if you've played that then youl have a vague headstart on some of the game mechanics. Can't recommend it enough. -
Comparing this season to 2014/15 Great Escape
Gubbins replied to tickler28's topic in Leicester City Forum
No defence we've had in the past 30 years has been as crap as the current one. I honestly believe that. Relative to the level they're playing it's the worst I've seen. -
King of doom this season as well i believe when Cooper was in charge.
-
Ndidi and vestergaard were both free in the summer and noone came in for them. I don't see a season of constant defeats, crap performances and infrequent appearances raising their stock. Maybe a newly promoted club goes for Winks but again he's hardly looked good this season has he?
-
Andy King without the goal threat and quality teammates to compensate for the nothingness.
