  1. Ah yeah course, but even then he was another of our better players (got less than MV anyway). Anytime we actually have sold a non first choice players it’s felt like a wild overpay rather than any negotiation chops like Cannon or Hirst.
  2. I’ve said for years that Rudkin lacks any agency. The regime goons on here trotted out “somebody has to want these players”, well Faes got a move to Monaco and he said there we refused offers in the summer. A good DoF is on the phone, meeting other clubs and agents, networks around Europe, gets to know Saudis and so on. Rudkin just smacks of being a meek, desk-based DoF who does everything by email (and infamously fax). We’ve never lowballed teams like they do us, we’ve never foisted obligations-to-buy loans on teams, we’ve never engaged in PSR merry go round deals like Chelsea literally showed us how. We’ve never cashed in on pure profit academy sales - excepting KDH and Chilwell I don’t think we’ve sold any academy players for north of a million? Iversen left on a free (Palace tabled 4m iirc?), Bassey left for a nominal fee, Maswanhise left on a free and so on. These sundry transfers should have added up. Like @Dan said the excuse was, “oh we can’t sell these players for a loss because of PSR” which we then failed by an embarrassing distance anyway, there’s always been this embarrassing deference to a proven idiot. An average DoF would have saved us about half a billion pounds this past decade. This is the sort of terminal incompetence which will kill the club.
  3. Maybe a bit far away for you to attempt it all but stretches of this might appeal - I’m 70% of the way through https://www.lfa.org.uk/leicestershireround
  4. Sheff United can probably spend £7m ish on him and we have to take it unfortunately
  5. Pearson’s club building efforts - which were far beyond what almost any manager has ever done - completely masked Rudkin’s fecklessness. He was also bailed out by Walsh staying on a touch longer (he was apparently overlooked for the DoF role, unbelievably). He’s been incorrigibly bad from day 1 it’s just he’s had others doing his job for him. Any body any good behind the scenes has left quickly, Idiakez, Halajko, McGuinness et al. He’s shameless. Even if he retired though we’d ****ed because Top is somehow more clueless.
  6. Macia looks better and better with every passing year
  7. Allowing Congerton into the building was proof enough they had absolutely no clue. His record at Celtic, Sunderland and Hamburg was abysmal.
  8. I usually dread refurbs but god that needed one. Looks a bit naff but it’s Everards so it’s to be expected
  9. Free Trade Inn, Cumberland Arms, Bridge Hotel, Crown Posada, The Carriage for Newcastle. Slightly disappointing amount of good pubs for its reputation, suffers with loads of big chains in the centre. In other news Augustiner Helles is being rolled out on draught in Britain
  10. He’s a sellable asset and will be a high earner - he has to be sold.
  11. There are plenty of people who are more upset at well reasoned Anti-KP sentiment than the idea of going down again in the most embarrassing relegation yet. They absolutely are KPFC fans, they can’t imagine a Leicester City without him, probably because despite all their “wot are u a glory hunter!” claims they’re projecting because they didn’t follow us before - they couldn’t actually imagine what it was like.
  12. Top doesn't know who they are, last thought about them sometime in 2024 I reckon
  13. Whoosh
  14. Normal business rules don't apply to purchasing a football club. Most owners don't buy a club with a view to making money. I think a multi-club group would keep a keen eye on us, if you have some alpha (most buyers don't) in successfully running a club then we would be a good pick up. As I've said before we're in this mess not because of a lack of club fundamentals like needing a new stadium, no fans, poor academy or training ground. The clueless owner and executives have caused all this and by purchasing the club you kill/cure the problem instantly. We'd still be a costly purchase because of our debt ceiling but the sticker price, especially if we went into admin, would be fairly low. RedBird Capital own Toulouse and AC Milan (been criticised at the latter but have done well with the former). The reasons they took over Toulouse sort of apply to Leicester, much uglier city though!
  15. I think the opposite, they don't report very much at all because Top isn't interested in hearing about minutiae, he's barely interested in hearing about the finances. Instead it's the ops director (the new one seems ok in fairness), head of security and the comms director that carefully stage manage the club to crack down on any dissent as not to upset their tiny weeny boss. I wrote a scathing article and excerpts made it into the Athletic (since deleted - it was all correct) and a few friends met the club, they were incensed that their boss was insulted. They were genuinely weirdly emotional about it.
  16. If our owner wasn't complete idiot this sentiment wouldn't be felt so strongly. Lots of people wanted VAR and more financial regulations and this is the net result, I'd rather scrap all of it - let clubs spend what they want, the rules have hardly made clubs act sustainably. Instead they've just spent more swapping youth players, selling training grounds and on legal fees. Resetting to say, the rules in places as of 2018 would make the sport less of a procedural drama. There's plenty of thing that sa e f ucked and should be improved but focusing on a wider narrative of 'football bad now' lets our retards off the hook
  17. It's so arbitrary but if we'd won the title in 1928, or won a few FA cups in the 60s - literally had about 270 minutes' worth of football gone differently 50-100 we'd be viewed as a bigger club. Pre-war titles and pre-PL titles especially have such an outsized influence on the perception of a club's size.
  18. Most Represent fanbase in the 92
  19. Top's IQ is probably something like 90. That explains so much of the baffling lack of action or poor decisions - he's a witless nepo baby and he's never had to make a real decision for himself until he became the owner of KP and LCFC
  20. Vestergaard has been frozen out and allegedly refused to move whereas Thomas and Choudhury haven't. They're all in the same boat mostly but Vestergaard's career earnings will have eclipsed those pair of twats. It's more shameful for Vestergaard to stick around for monetary gain whilst getting relegated 3 times in 4 years as an experienced international and 15m player. It's bad for others but he's more of a leach. He could go and play for Esbjerg or whoever and enjoy himself rather than picking up 40k per week in a rotting institution.
  21. There's been a hell of a lot of retrograde development but this possibly the worst. The Haymarket the only contender
  22. I thought your name was Hilde?
  23. I've slagged all of those players off (Souttar aside) more than vestergaard - I know you're referring to FT more broadly however. With Vestergaard though he was the first, most obvious and most expensive departure from our previously successful transfer model. Up until that point experienced PL players were usually cheap e.g Evans, Huth, Albrighton. You could argue Perez was but he at least did have a good season prior to signing him. Vestergaard wasn't rated at Southampton, we put 9 past him, he was immediately dropped, frozen out and finally got back into the side after a shock relegation - before we inexplicably gave him 3 years. Just as we've compounded our error by extending Thoms and Choudhury's contracts we have with Vestergaard but he cost us £15m and he'll have been on higher wages than the other two.
  24. Across a few different metrics it's the worst funded (the non-metropolitan area) county in the country. In a pork barrel county you need to moan and we only do it the most impotent grumbly way
