This was the vital thing that season, something we’ve almost never had before or since. It’s a rarity for clubs like ours. Ranieri was the only manager who could have won us that title. And that doesn’t get said enough.

I’m confused people saying about his work rate. Perez spent most of his time on the floor because he’d tripped over the ball. I don’t remember him being an energetic high press merchant at all. I’d agree with Stadt that signing him arguably cost us the Champions League. Massive weak link, waste of money and wages, missed that sitter at Chelsea. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was completely unsuited to English football due to a lack of physicality, but his touch was also awful so I don’t know maybe we just signed his twin by accident.

I mean I’m not going to be watching him either way. Let’s just be honest with ourselves and say he’s gonna be shite. I’ll be shocked if he isn’t.

Can’t we just split the club in two. KPFC can keep this one, we’ll secede FC United of Manchester style and claim all the club’s history anyway (they can argue with us all they like we’ll just ignore them). Not interested in supporting the same club as these people.

Except there are about 20 teams above us with less time in the top tier and smaller fanbases. Including several in the Prem.

Imagine you’ve just broke up with someone. You’re low on confidence and ugly as fvck so you just scroll through your old numbers for anyone you already know who’s desperate enough to have a go with you. I’m not sure where I’m going with this. Am I on the wrong forum?

The thing is, surely businesses have accountants etc who know the ins and outs of stuff like PSR. I imagine it’s fairly basic stuff for a professional. The CEO isn’t likely to be doing it himself. To me, it’s obvious there are people around him who can explain things to him and advise him and he either ignores them or minimises them if it doesn’t fit his narrative. He surrounds himself with yes men instead, people out for themselves who aren’t necessarily even qualified. Anyone who had any self-awareness or care for the club wouldn’t have put it in this position. It’s not hard to get a consensus or listen to more knowledgeable people. The only explanation is that he’s actively chosen not to. Saying he’s just thick is giving him too much credit.

I have a sneaky suspicion they will do this though. Because it’s easy and he’s popular with the fans.

Honestly someone like Warnock would suit me. Not actually Warnock, but someone who can motivate the ones that can be motivated and scare the ones with an attitude problem into submission. We need to stay up this season and all that requires is a bit of grit and togetherness.

The fact that this isn’t on the top 10 football stories on BBC shows how far we have fallen, and that combined with Cifuentes saying our expectations are too high makes me feel no sympathy for him. I’ve had it with people belittling the club until we become little. Professional pride is badly needed. The club is a shambles but that doesn’t excuse the attitude of some of our managers.

Inevitable from the very first match.

‘Delusions of grandeur’ was after we lost 2-1 at home to Barnsley in 2012. Safe to say we weren’t much better that season than we are now and rightly had higher expectations. It’s not abundantly clear what he meant but my interpretation was that the fans expected more but the team was crap. Needless to say the squad had major changes and thus reality started to meet our expectations. He wouldn’t have said we should accept lower midtable like this melt is.

This is just a ridiculous comment. He signed a contract at a club with a certain standing and expectation level. So what he’s saying is that he can’t meet our very reasonable expectations for a club of our size. No manager with any self-respect would say such a thing. It’s a real loser’s mentality.

Ok, but they can be loud and vocal outside the ground, no? It’s not going to get more attention inside the ground because it’s too disjointed. Outside the ground will have far, far more potential. Everyone will be in one place and it will be impossible to miss.

I think this is true tbh. They don’t care about the result, going to the football is just something to do to kill time until they expire. It’s not a thing they have pride in or take personally like football fans do. It’s a hobby. That’s why they never get upset.

This is it now. Time to stop complicating this and overthinking it. It’s a boycott. It’s not a chant. It’s not staying in the concourse. It’s not a plane or van message. If you’re not KPFC, there is no excuse for continuing to attend matches. There are other things to do in life. Yes, even with the people you usually go to the football with. You can bond and meet up over something else. These things are about what you are willing to do. If you want change, you need to change, do something different, make a calculated sacrifice. Do something they will notice. Personally, I think it would be most effective to do both of the following. 1) Boycott every match 2) Gather outside the ground and protest. Anyone going to the match will see it, the media will see it. It’s noticeable and doesn’t require making the ground look full. That’s just an idea. But the bare minimum is a complete and total boycott. Not just the next game, but for the rest of the season. Shame the club.

We had plenty of time since the last match, that’s not the issue. The issue was it was a bad idea. It was non-committal. It had very limited potential. It was half-hearted and over-complicated for the sake of making it ‘fun’. There are people on here who suggested it because deep down they just didn’t want to miss another game. Well boycotts, enforcing change; these things are about sacrifice. Except in this instance, when you’re not sacrificing anything by missing us play Oxford United. If anyone here cares you’ll boycott the next match at the very least, or do something that risks you losing your season ticket and getting a ban. Anything less and you’re just full of hot air.

That’s because it’s not a boycott.

A proper boycott and protest outside for the next game then. If people are going to attend you would need to do something really disruptive to make it known. This staying in the concourse is neither here nor there.

If your argument is that the club is bound to make the wrong decision or can’t be bothered to do adequate scouting of a good manager with the personal management qualities to inspire this team and improve it tactically, I don’t think many on here would argue with you. Most people on this forum are arguing what they want to happen, not what they think will happen. If the question is: Are there better managers in existence than Marti Cifuentes who would come to Leicester? Then of course the answer is yes, they just won’t be ones who have already made a name to warrant a bigger club than Leicester. The problem is if you only think of managers from the perspective of reputation, you’re never going to pick the right manager because managers with a better reputation than us wouldn’t come here. So we end up with managers who have enough reputation to be known but not enough quality to get a better club than us. It’s like buying an older horse who’s exposed to the handicapper - when we should be hiring young novices with lower weights and room for improvement. Ones that ‘dumber’ clubs have foolishly overlooked. That’s what Brighton used to do to punch above their weight, with managers and players. We always ask this question ‘who would come here?’ because this stupid club only considers names and not qualities.

Why? A manager signs a contract often knowing they aren’t going to be backed financially and Marti should have done enough research to know this was going to be the case here. A manager’s job is to get the most out of the players they have, especially as they rarely get final say or lots of input into specific signings in this day and age. If you only judge a manager when they are backed, you’re essentially giving loads of money to a man who has not yet proven that they can get the best out of their players. To me, it’s fairly clear Cifuentes gets less out of this squad than the sum of its parts, therefore we’d be crazy to give him money to spend.

What if we start winning in the first 10 minutes like today? It won’t take off. Are some people just that desperate to watch us play Oxford? Anything you can do inside the ground can be done outside the ground. I don’t want them seeing a full stadium and muting the mics.

As long as it’s outside the ground. Inside the ground it will only happen in pockets and can be muted. Outside the ground will get more attention, especially if it means empty seats inside the ground.
