Premier League Thread 2023/2024
Leicesterpool replied to Nalis's topic in General Football and Sport
So more dull football to come for Sheffield United. Proper full circle, sack Wilder replaced him with Heckingbottom then reappoint Wilder again.. lol. -
Think these will be the tv picks Sunderland v Newcastle Arsenal v Liverpool Man City v Huddersfield (don't ask why? but will) Middlesbrough v Aston Villa Chelsea v Preston (They love showing Chelsea stuffing someone) Wigan v Man Utd Shrewsbury v Wrexham (if wrexham make it, they'll find space on schedule to show them off and hoping to catch glimpse of their hollywood owners)

Premier League Thread 2023/2024

It'll look bleak for blades supporters when comes to names linked to the job, in their current situation attracting anyone is going to be difficult... think it'll end up being Dean Smith. Lovely guy as we know and nearly kept us up... perhaps a spot kick away from Maddison would have been enough. But two relegations from the premier league don't look good on your CV. Neil Warnock could be possibility on a interim term, due to his love for the club, but again is premier league record ain't good. One name that could be good for Sheffield United that could be a gamble but as experience in guiding teams to safety is Gary Rowett, but no premier league experience. -
At least Saudi Arabia or Qatar can't bid for the commonwealth games
-
I reckon Enzo will make a few changes for this, I don't seem to think the cup his high on agenda this season. Shame love another cup run. Don't be surprised if we see a few youngsters making debuts and likes of Dewsbury-Hall, Vardy, Winks, Ndidi, Ricardo all being rested.

Leicester 2026! why not lol. If you look around the world in sports it seems like many countries are struggling to finance major events... hence why we are seeing many joint world cup bids. It's sad as no doubt it does bring tourists to your country and city. I reckon 2026 will end up in London, using some of the 2012 venues. Commonwealth games seems not to have the appeal no more even British athlete's pull out in order to save themselves for the Olympics. Asher-Smith I seem to recall had a mysterious injury just weeks before Birmingham, don't think it was announced what the injury was. Seem to recall another athlete who can't remember, sure it was the swimming even admitted they wanted to focus on the upcoming Olympics. Think in time we will see more and more less countries involved, as many are pulling away from the commonwealth. In ten years time It'll probably be only England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Canada taking part.

Haaland is a big headed t#sser. When the decisions dont go his way he acts like a big kid. Top footballer... but immature as a person. -
Ticking boxes, BBC are taking diversity to the next level... but theres a difference of being equal and fair than just doing things for the sake of it. If your casting someone has the best person for the job thats fine by me but if your just casting by the colour of someones skin to make your channel look good... then i think doing that could be equally racist.

While I was enjoying my Sunday in Edinburgh, my dad was having an horrific journey home. Got flixibus home or tried to to. Boarded Edinburgh, coach supposes to be heading for Bristol via Birmingham. Arrived at Manchester, driver got off. Shouted at passengers telling them they needed to get off... no reason... when passengers asked why he said "the rest of the journey will be taking passengers on from stand J or summit in 20 minutes". Coached arrived 20 minutes later, people went to board another rude driver said "no ones getting on, coach is faulty" when asked a how long will this take he replied "how long is a piece of string" passengers started to get peed off asking what the hell is happening. Driver apparently was disinterested and just walked straight into a staff room. No flixibus staff around, left passengers totally stranded. Driver reappeared half an hour later!, when passengers asked what's going on his reply was "dunno have to speak to the flixbus customer service, i'm on a different route now!" what customer service? there was no information desk for flixbus and the information desk there. Poor customer service from flixibus. What a shambles by the sound of it, some passengers got themselves booked on coaches with national express and had to finance themselves... some like my dad head off to Manchester Piccadilly. It was clear nothing was going to happen there. Avoid flixibus!

New owners have been walked away... didnt even tell anyone. Completely abandoned the club before they have even started. Shambles, not fair on Boro supporters. My suspicion they have found a higher league club to invest in and opted for them instead. -
Kirby as been amazing over the years for England, but she looks out of place in the squad I think. Perhaps her time as come and gone. Not been the same since the injury.

There's a video going around on social media of a police office being set alight outside Villa Park. Horrific scenes, Legia Warsaw need serious punishment this is a long ongoing issue with them. A ban from europe for the next few seasons maybe sufficient.

Off to Edinburgh today. Been off work two weeks due to stress, had a breakdown at work so needed time to get restarted. The doctor gave me two weeks, Now in annual leave as already booked these days. Two weeks was really needed i think if i carried on. I would have just gone down. I was not mentally in a great place at the time.

I can imagine every year in January the producers write a list of 50 celebs they want. High profiled ones they want and work there way down the list see who says yes or no... once 50 is up you then get the wannabe celebs (nobody's who do anything to get publicity)

Hazard won't drop to the championship no chance a return to premier league, yeah could happen. Return to Chelsea? possible. If not them then perhaps some like West Ham. It'll be a london club i reckon. Nearly said Tottenham lol... but after 2016 I doubt he's welcome their

I think VAR needs to be changed where the ref should choose if he wants to review the decision. If he wasnt sure then thats when monitor should be used. If in last night's case where the referee looked 100% convinced var should not be used. The cricket system is better. Where if the third umpire is uncertain they allow referee to stick with his original decision. -

I dont know why non league clubs feel they say pay players alot. Clubs budget is tight then your forking out 1k a week on players, plus most of them have got full time jobs so its not like its there only job. Like stenson would have been on 4k a month so he probably didnt need a full time job. Dont sit right when theres volunteers at the club earning nothing yet players are getting paid that. -

Thinking that Stenson was on 1k a week but if hes took that 50% pay cut than that £500 a week is more than what some others pay this level. Kyle Storer what im told is not paid by the club, a sponsor is apparently funding his wages in exchange for sponsorship. -

They already on a 50% pay cut. -
I think in the past it was money i think she wanted loads and probably percentage of merchandise sold. I think some directors and writers get cagey getting someone too famous as i think the fear the actors want to much control and demands. As we seen with Eccleston in the first series. Things will change with Disney who may want to raise the stakes. If it doesn't work with new actor they will want a change. Christopher Lloyd would have been the dream doctor but age wise... im actually certain the next doctor will be American. Too appeal more to their audience... especially when all the actors to date have all been british.
-
I think with disney on board now will see alot more on location filming. We might see some episodes filmed states side... dont rule out in years a future Doctor being American. Whoopi Goldberg claimed she contacted the BBC number of times in interest to play the Doctor. However if there was to be an American doctor i reckon Jim Parsons would likely be the first.

Boro win again at Kettering, back into the play off positions. What ive seen in the last 12 games is the best ive seen long in a time from Boro. Even better than last year, yep last year we were up there but the football wasnt great. A lot of narrow wins. This run complete transformation. We look confident and exciting. Interesting considering whats going on behind the scenes. -
