Clubs got too many debts I think, even if takeover was possible by the fans they would still be the overhanging debt we would inherit. Footballers need to remember the careers they signed up for, it's not like an every day job where you can up and quit and relocate somewhere else. It was always subject to the deal being completed on time and January is always a tricky window to get a move. I do feel like at times footballers need to be educated and warned early on that sometimes in football things may not go to plan and you can be left disappointed, somethings can go out of your control. Nearly did with Bond, he supposedly held talks to play Bond for Casino Royale before Craig or the other actors that auditioned at the time. In fact what I read, Bond was offered to him on plate but something about he wouldn't commit to anymore than two films. Owen's career would have turned out so much different if he got that job.
