Non-League Football 25/26
Leicesterpool replied to SemperEadem's topic in General Football and Sport
Hopefully Hinckley AFC move into the stadium. Decent stadium and finally Hinckley get to play within the town again. Leicester Road going under as sad as it is for volunteers and fans. Its probably best thing to happen to the town of Hinckley. Having just one club will allow for bigger attendances. -
May guess club have got one prime target in mind and perhaps no one else... if they cant get him we're stuck with Ruud 🤨

Not sure if its a leak fc26 but on one updates noticed scottish championship logo was on fc25 posts wonder if the Scottish championship is to be added next season.

Telford early in the season, told players and coaching staff if they didn't gain promotion in May. If players wanted to remain they would need cut wages by 50%. Luickly for then they did go to gain promotion. Even though they attract crowds of 1k every week they expected crowds to drop if they remained in the southern league Central for a third season. -

You got to hope they got a good backer, as you seen with Nuneaton Boro you cant always just throw money to chase the dream, especially when its not your money. Plus if your not attracting the fans, not getting revenue you back. No doubt Barwell towards the end of last season were offering stupid wages to avoid relegation. Crown Skips sponsor gave Jim Ginnelly 30k i heard. They stayed up but by default. Wage bill will be high next season especially if those players remained. -

Yep announced yesterday -
Kirby retires now... so that's Earps gone... Bright out on mental health... something isn't right. Retirements before a major tournament can't be helping the teams morale. Performance tonight was terrible, strange gone from Friday night on a high after crushing Portugal to suddenly be back to down to reality.

One or two things on social media suggesting this could be Sarina Wiegman final tournament with the lionesses. Saying that she's expected to step down as manager, hope it's not true! how long left on her contract.

Kyle Jardine announces he's leaving Heather St Johns, last seasons top goal scorer in the Midland Division One. Same day as his announcement of his departure, he comes a member of Boro's facebook fan page. Early spoilers... Good if true, it's been known Boro been wanting to sign him for some time. -
Im not a fan but it prevents less matches being called off.

Interesting is their any rules where we can announce the new manager then confirm Ruud will be leaving on 30th June.
-
So no Lucy Pinder in the Highcross then.

It's an easy ride for Martin, goes up there he's guaranteed at least one cup if it's the scottish cup, scottish league cup... the title at a push. Soon as English job comes calling he'll be back down in a shot. Rangers is a massive club and could easily attract a big name... what don't help is they play in a poor league. No top coach wants to manage in the Scottish league visiting Livingston, Dundee, Inverness, Kilmarnock. Even trying to convince decent players from europe to come can be an issue.
-
Like it more colour than the usual plain they turn up it. Perhaps too much blue again... the kit kind of flags the union jack rather the England colours. However its 7/10 for me, its an improvement.

Party time Martin aint coming 🎉

Not sure why efl bands 4g pitches means clubs like Tamworth if they got into efl they have spend probably over 100k in digging up their pitch to install grass again.

National league for me has been screaming for extra promotion spot. Should be three down, three up.

Another manager thats done an incredible job with youth players is Mark Harrison at Aston Villa. Never heard of him? Me neither but noticed since he became their academy in 2019, they went from a quiet period to producing the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Cameron Archer, Callum O'Hare, Louis Barry. Won the double last year in the a academy league. With the amount youngster's likely coming through with the Foxes perhaps Harrison is a good manager to help through transition of course a huge gamble... but could surely be no worse than Ruud. Notably his academy side knocked out two EFL sides out of the EFL Trophy.

Seems like if it was axed no many people would be too dissapointed, think most fans would prefer the break and get RTD away from the show. It may return in 3 to 4 years and perhaps a full reboot... and when say reboot i mean serious reboot that will start from scratch and will not be connected to the original series. Next doctor of the reboot will be considered the 1st doctor. Itll be like the James Bond reboot of 2006 with Casino Royale, where they decided to start again, with a new time line. What created the reboot was how daft Die Another Day was... similar to the last Doctor Who series. The show we remain with the BBC, but Disney may decide to take full charge. In terms selecting writers, directors, casting etc...BBC will just be responsible for showing it. Perhaps part of the reboot you may see a big name being lured in by Disney.. like a Jude Law or something... whose just done Star Wars series for Disney.

Yeah a few people have since pointed that out, looks like Piper is most likely signed up for maybe Christmas Special perhaps and that's it. I can imagine it's been done whilst they decide on the direction of the show and maybe even decide on the next actor. It's either possible we could see a new acted introduced at the ending of christmas special or as some suggested it could be left at open ending with no new actor and perhaps a very long break for the show. I somehow don't think there's plans for a new series in 2026. Bringing back Russell T Davies was a huge mistake. Apparently there's alternative ending they had to completely be reshot and rewritten. The ending that was filmed had no regeneration, no Billie Piper, no Jodie Whittaker. Instead it was going end in a party or something there was also going to be a scene with original Susan from the 1960's was to appear which was going to lead on to the next episode which would be the christmas special featuring Ncuti Gatwa. The re filming must have been done very recently only rumours about Gatwa leaving and Billie Piper returning only surfaced about week or two ago. Of course the viewing figures and fan reviews have forced the producers make a swift decision. The ending does feel disjointed and added on, like things needed to be wrapped up quickly. Of course more things will come out in years to come and what happened on set.

Swear pricing plays a huge factor. Sell cheaper beers or more deals fans will come otherwise fans will stay at the pub until nearer kick off.

Not sure how Inter Milan made that final, there were terrible not to take anything away from PSG who were without this years deserved winners but Inter never should got near the final. Both Liverpool and Villa gave PSG more of a scare. Luis Enrique what a coach he is.. won't surprise me if he replaces Pep at Man City when Pep steps down.
