That is me with my third OU assignment question, - Describe the argument that a UK consumer society is turning the UK into a throw away society. Basically we used to be an industrialised society with the focus being on work and manufacturing of goods, now the focus is on what your money can buy and what image you have. How you are seen depends on your affluence andability to have access to valuable resources so people are 'seduced' into upping their image by discarding unwanted goods in favour of up to date versions. On the other end of the scale there are the 'oppressed' those who are constrained by financial or other reasons.

Waiting on results on TMA02 from OU. Not supposed to discuss or talk about what the questions are or module topics. Not sure I am supposed to say what my marks were for TMA01 but count those trombones in the big parade over there %. TMA03 I may get the chance to use the terms 'social cleavage' and 'seduction' This is not what you may think. It relates to consumption inequality the oppressed and the seduced and a throwaway society in the UK. So all in all ot much to say. Finally settled in new flat. Will avoid politic talk apart from one narcissistic megalomaniac lying clown down one to go.

In the first year they wamt you to keep yo 'in house' resources. There is a vast library for audio and ebooks. They want you to get into writing essays structure and presenting assignments correctly. Referencing from outside resources is frowned upon and may receive reprimands. You can meet others in online chatroom and discussion groups. This is part of why I am a littled annoyed on how my move is being handled. The housing officer has said that I have to be ready to move and do it in one day. I am with Virgin for a package that includes TV phone and internet. The new place is not set up so they have to install it. I keep asking when thry can do the work and get, dont worry about it we'll call them before' That is fine but they need notice and will not be able to work if people are carrying boxes and furniture around them. I also asked about electric/gas. 'Oh we'll just have it switched over' I pay by DD I do not know the providers or tariff. The course does not start until Oct 3 but the module website opens Sept 10 where tutor contact details are given out and activities to ease you into it are available like tutorials. Some free courses are available now and the delay is not helping. The tenants have to move out and and the HA atre providing some things like washer/dryer fridge plus it has to be decorated, I'd better shut up Rant too long.

Long time no see. Starting an Open University course in Oct on the Social Sciences. Waiting for student loan to be approved. Just looking at the assignment book is frightening. It covers and can lead to others things such as criminology cosmetology so not a meaningless degree as some think Good thing is I dont have to pay the loan back unless i get a job paying over 26k. Companies will be lining up to employ a 70 yr old or if i go further 75 tr old. :Seriously it is for my own satisfaction and acheiving something before Mr GR comes for me. Also moving flats soon. Not far. Same street but its ground floor. Hoping thats sorted ot soon.

I was going to say the second Arsenal goal was good but they have just scored a decent third. -

DEcent game but Watford were on top most of it. We took our chances. I was given a link for the game hes goals. Just had to remove ads. No buffering. I have taken a sports package from Virgin. Lasts till March. Half price. Should be about £40. Won't have it after it runs out though. Only got it for football. -

Not bad. Won at the Kings Head poker night and the new landlord bought me a City kit for my birthday and setting the game up. He is trying to get more players and promoting it on the pubs Facebook page. Paul Kings.

No Friends of Israel groups? Corbyn has not campaigned for peace? Don't believe all what the MSM says. -

There are a lot of rich and powerful people supporting israel so it stands to reason that anything said against their Government. Corbyn has been a peace campaigner all his life and his gripe is with the Israili Government bombing the shit out of the Palestine people. All the smears have nothing to do with antisemitism but more to do with money and the personanel interests. They are afraid that if Corbyn is in power he will cut off links with Israel and their income. Corbyn is one of the few who is trying to bring peace in the region. I doubt many will agree so time for another break from FT.
