  1. In other news Jeremy Corbyn has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and the government have cocked up over Universal Credit.
  2. I heard the nurses say the patient I mentioned was being violent. He must have been well drugged up. On my last day he seemed fine so it may have been the drugs, The sides of his bed were up and they had move things away. They also kept their distance. They certainly experience a variety of situations so I suppose that is part of the attraction. You are interacting with all sorts of people and hear interesting stories from the older patients. They were busy but not rushed off their feet if you know what I mean. They came round taking blood pressure and heart moitoring but that was all routine. Other times they were going through patient notes. I suppose they need to be computer savvy now. They were carryin small tablets linked to computers to record results.
  3. I forgot to say can I give a shout out for the nurses and doctors. They were great. They had a lot to put up with. The guy in the next bed was knocking things off the table and pulling stuff off the equpment area. but the nurse stayed calm and treated him as normal. They had to to a rectal probe on me and the nurse said this may hurt, and I said It's worse for you and all she said was It's all part of the job' I over hear a male nurse talking about his hours. 3x12.5 hrs then 4x12.5 hrs days and nights. I heard one junior nurse being asked if she wanted to be a doctor. she said no because she liked the contact with people. She was only about 20.
  4. cheers. Wasn't sure which tablet was the food one. Also movicol has to be mixed with water so drank that and eating toast at the same time. Took a paracetamol by mistake they were in the bag i keep the others. Any in hospital they helped with the stomach pain. Asked for one in hospital. They never had them on the ward so had to orger them from the pharmacy. Feeling better and eating more. The doctor who came to see me gave me a syrynge when I said iwas having trouble eating. I've been told there is a spray version. Not sure if I am ready for a full meal yet and have stopped drinking. Unfortunately the course of the pills goes into the Xmas period. I don't know which tablets are OK with alcohol. One lot anoxillin is not on going so will end when they are gone. Glad cuz they are 3 times a day and difficult to swallow. The others depends on the doctor I think I can stop the Movicol when I am passing regularly. That will just leave 3 two once a day one twice. a day so its not like i'm popping pills all day Besides if I keep off the drink there may not be any signs of it for the dr to keep me on them all.
  5. I don't know what this thread is about but I suggest contacting Wishes4Kids. A charity that tries to grant wishes for terminally ill children. They are based in Leicester.
  6. Took the first load. Have to carry a card for one called xarelto. Just read on the card it should be taken with food does water count as food?

  13. any developments?
  14. Some billionaires could spend on a breakfast what others have to live on for a month. Would it not be nice for them to spend just half of that so someone else can make a better choice between eating and heating. Some of the most generous people I have met have had little themselves. They know what it is like to struggle. Some don't know where the next £1 is coming from and some don't know where the next £1000 is coming fromThe difference being the first can only feed the electric meter one day, the second can feed it or 18 months.
  15. Some of those are also the biggest donors to the Tory funds. Theres a lot of scratching backs goes on in politics
  16. The point of no return like the restaurant at the end of the universe.
  17. Did you not know there was more important news for the press to convey to the public? There's a royal sprog on the way. Yippee.
  18. Still around. Not much I want to reply to lately. Not much point anyway as I am probably on ignore by a few. I have a look once or twice a day, look at the topics then mark them as read and open the couple of latest posts I want to read. Depending on who's posted I reply, give rep or disregard.
  19. Been watching Heroes again the last few weeks. Two thirds through season three. Hit and miss really. The first series was good and the second was cut short because of a writers strike. There was supposed to be a mini series spin off about that time too which left the beginning of S3 disjointed as the stuck it in front. Viewers ratings went down as well so fewer episodes were made. Also started the third season of Fargo. No idea what the beginning was about unless it was just a hint that the story was not true when the said it was. Maybe the old man that was killed had something to do with it.
  20. There is a Ale Fest at the Broood this weekend. Some rare beers on from new breweries. Steve Thatcher the landlord travels eround the country to collect them himself. Bit of a ticker himself and his stuff when it comes to beer. Check out their FB page and website.
  21. No. My cursor has the habit sometimes of moving to a different place. I don't look at the screen when typing so I could write a whole paragraph before noticing. Annoying. The real Ale Classroom is OK but a little out the way for me. Once there there is nowhere around to go.
  22. Seems some use the same places as me. Our paths may have crossed and not known it. Off to the Ale Stone now. Later Broood. On Tuesday they have a quiz but not for serious quizzers. The prizes are rubbish and its just for fun. Its free to enter. They also have a quiz on a Thursday which is more serious with some scrutinising every question and answer.
