What a chump!!

As it is they will still incur "huge financial and reputational cost". Being honest appears to count for nowt.

More from the Post Office Inquiry today. After listening to the evidence and answers given by Robert Daily, another PO investigator, it would appear that they treated all sub-postmasters/mistresses as guilty prior to any investigations and, indeed, even after they could find no evidence that money had been stolen. The Post Office and their investigators would not admit nor contemplate, for a moment, that the problems lay with the faulty Horizon IT system.

Leicester 1-1 Ipswich Post Match Thread

Another 2 points chucked away, good job we've a few in the bag. -
What are we doing? Have we learnt nothing from the away game at Ipswich?
-
Nice of the 'Tractor Boys' help with our success.

I'm just staggered that De Santis is now backing Trump after opposing him. Why didn't he swing behind Nikki Haley?
-
Another home win no doubt.
-
I realise that but it never did us any harm. These bloody do-gooders.

League One & Two - 2023-2024 Season
David Hankey replied to Wymsey's topic in General Football and Sport
The owner of FGR is obviously out of his depth when it comes to selecting a manager. But, there again, so are many other Club owners. -
Well, the fact of the matter is they treated every sub-postmaster/mistress as a thief. They were not willing to accept any bugs/defects in their precious system and these miscreants had to be taught a lesson whether they were innocent or not. It really is a modern day 'David & Goliath' story.

I, too, appreciate that computer systems have problems but to attempt to hide these issue for over 20 years is absolutely deplorable. And on top of this the former disgraced Post Office CEO, Vennells continued to state there were no problems and the Horizon IT system was "robust". What a bloody liar!!
-
Interesting to hear at the Post Office Inquiry this morning that 'BED's, bugs, errors and defects were known about by Fujitsu in 2000!!
-
Fish and chips wrapped in newspaper.
-
LCFC winning the EPL again.
-
Fujitsu have now decided not to bid for any more Government contracts whilst the Post Office Inquiry is ongoing. Now, why is that when they said up until recently there was nothing wrong with the Horizon IT system? Twinged of conscience maybe or the fact they are now realising the devastation they have caused. Great shame the decision wasn't made by the Government years ago.

FA Cup Fourth Round Draw (Monday 7:50pm)

I think I'd prefer Brum. -
Win this game and we've won the title.

Honesty.

I don't understand why you are trying to make this into some party political knockabout. I was attempting to put the facts to you that the system was introduced in 1998/99 and although Bliar had reservations it was still rolled out. Soon after flaws in the system were known but it didn't matter as every sub-postmaster by that time had signed to say they would make up any shortfall irrespective of how that discrepancy had been arrived at. So it has just been a "last 10 years" as you eluded to it has been going on for two decades!! I have said successive Governments and politicians of all shades cannot hold their heads up high.
-
With the opposition down to 13 and allowing your opponents to score isn't very good.
-
You will appreciate the 'Horizon' system was introduced by the Royal Mail/Post Office in 1998/9 when New Labour were in power. That Government sanctioned it's imposition despite having some reservations. Mandelson signed it off and it was soon after that problems with the system began. "The last 10 years is a myth". Don't just take my word for it, my wife was a sub-postmistress from 1992 to 2006.

Well we knew the 'Tractor Boys' would come good after the incentive we gave them.

At the end of the day Chaventry would love to be in our position.
