I'm here for the overreaction...

Not even a yellow 10 years ago. Totally unnecessary challenge that has likely cost us the game though.

There are red flags that need addressing by Marti. Luckily, the standard in the Championship is so poor, that we often don't get punished for mistakes or even team selections. Now the window has closed, we need to see Marti make necessary changes to the starting 11. Persisting with Soumare and Skipp, will make winning games that much harder for us. Okoli still looks suspect and if Faes is staying, then he should be starting. Ricardo should be our RB. Winks and/or James need to be starting as well. I hope to see Marti start making those changes in our next game, otherwise I will start to be concerned with his own decision making and stubbornness.

We need Faes, Winks and James to start for us. Not popular, but Skipp, Soumare and Okoli will cost us games if we persist with them.

Interesting to see the changing reaction to a Skipp - Soumare partnership, after 1 half decent game together. I still don't believe that pairing is the way to go in midfield. Luckily, the standard in the Championship is poor and it may work again today. Long-term, I think it will cause us similar issues that we have already experienced, and could likely cost us winning games.

Same with player interviews. I listened to Skipp earlier and he said all the right things. Too easy to say what people want to hear. Judge them on their performances and results only

It is a strange argument to use that new signings are often pre-judged and that can turn out to be wrong, but then you say "Julian will be fine"... He could be a complete dud, and on paper, there seems to be more chance of that than not. However, I hope he settles quickly and something clicks for him here and he is a 20+ goal striker that we could really do with this season.

He didn’t start due to his future being uncertain imo. The same with Winks. The Manager would have seen that both he and Winks had positive impacts from the bench. Unless either are keen on a move to Turkey or Saudi, then I suspect we may see them starting games soon.

Unpopular opinion, that I totally agree with. He is less exposed defensively at this level, and adds more in attack than our other options. I also think Winks should start too, if he is over his sulk and motivated to play his way into a good move in the next window or summer.

He left us at the right time with that fantastic 500 appearances to 200 goal ratio. But... he would still be ahead of Daka, Ayew and Carranza right now and I'd feel more confident too. Good luck to him though! When he announces his retirement, that will really hit me too.

Don't see Winks going abroad with some windows still open. I think he is stuck here until January and likely until the Summer too. It will be interesting to see if Marti throws him into the starting 11 and we see him over his sulk. I don't like his behaviour, but part of me is happy we still have him as an option.

Another punt due to his recent bad injuries, but if he is fit and motivated to kick on, then he could be a top signing this season.

I am a bit concerned by our striker options. Daka, Ayew and Carranza. We already know that Daka and Ayew are very limited players. That puts a lot of pressure on Carranza. I was hoping for more in this window. Something will need to click with Carranza here OR we will somehow have to get goals out of Daka and Ayew...

Got to hope he somehow surprises everyone, himself included, and starts scoring goals at this level. Our new striker is a bit of a punt IMO, so will need Daka and Ayew to contribute some goals...

Agreed. Surprised at the striker as seems a punt, especially considering we have the woeful Daka and Ayew. Like this James Jordan one though.

Suspect this will be our final deal of the night. I hoped for 1 or 2 more, but I am kinda relieved we actually did some business.

Time for a reset Mr Winks. If he wants a decent move in January or next Summer, then he needs to prove he is still a good player with us and at this level. Needs to quickly get over himself and rediscover his form from 23/24 and last time he was in the Championship. I think he will be an asset this season once he stops sulking.

Some lovely finishes there. Hoped for better (on paper) but everything might click for him with us and we then get a goal scorer that does the job and gets 20+ goals. Handsome beast too, which is worth a few goals!
