  2. I found last night's episode a bit dull TBH. I fell asleep.
  3. Stop in, watch Hootenanny, embarrass daughter by making her join in Auld Lang Syne, watch fireworks, bed.
  4. Charity shops are full of them.
  5. Wordle 1,247 4/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟨⬜🟨 🟨🟩🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  6. Because it's not very good?
  7. And those that walk in and don't make sure the door is shut. I'm talking cafe's, bars etc. It seems part of the general malaise of people not caring about others.
  8. Thanks. I was desperate to know and now I do, I give even less of a ****.
  9. Wordle 1,246 6/6 ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟩🟩 ⬜⬜🟨🟩🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I'm getting bored with this
  10. I'll be 69 yrs old tomorrow. Today I had an invitation to take up a deal on a cremation plan and a flier advertising an open day at a supported living complex for "seniors". **** off. Vultures.
  11. I've read through this topic and the point I still come back to is: His dad had a fruit 'n' veg stall on Leicester market. In case you didn't know.
  12. As a result of this post, I googled "Rachel Riley, qualifications". Never even gave Reeve a thought. Just shows where my my mind lingers.
  13. When I got my first proper job, I worked alongside one of Piggotts' sons in sales for DCE (Dust Control Equipment), a major manufacturer that used to be in Thurmaston. Unfortunately time has removed his name from my memory. I do recall he had an Austin Riley and he occasionally used to take me with him to the Piggotts scrappy on Western Boulevard after work. That would have been around 1972. The yard was a fascinating place, lots of scrap railway engines and cranes with huge magnets to pick up the metal. The smell of oil and rust and scrap. The filth and grime. Workers covered in dark, rusty metallic dust.
  14. That I used to work with the nephew of this forgotten local champion: Norman Dagley - Wikipedia
  15. Maybe they meant rabies but it got lost in translation?
  16. Well, that answered absolutely nothing.
  17. Wordle 1,245 5/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟩 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  18. Nothing we didn't already know. Politicians of the world will ignore this just as they have ignored every Israeli atrocity since the attack on the concert by Hamas. It makes me wonder what they're scared of.
  19. Wordle 1,244 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟩⬜⬜ 🟨🟨🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Well, I knew it wasn't vulva
  20. My wife identifies as a vacuum cleaner. She works with Alexa, sucks like a Dyson and she's self emptying (these days).
  21. Cufk off.
  22. I probably miss the disco more than Steve. He was a bit of a twat TBH.
  23. The quote you refer to doesn't state that God created evil, "However, a serpent convinces Eve to eat fruit from the forbidden tree, and she gives some of the fruit to Adam. These acts not only give them additional knowledge, but also give them the ability to conjure negative and destructive concepts such as shame and evil." Therefore the serpent is evil, as Eve was convinced by it to eat from the forbidden tree. This resulted in them being able to develop the concept of evil, of their own free will. A bit like taking an hallucinogenic substance and discovering weird concepts and beliefs that you are convinced are real. Almost like drug induced psychosis... I'll leave it there.
  24. I remember The Belmont when they had a disco in the basement and the chairs were made out of old half barrels. My mate Steve would occasionally rob money from his dad's wallet and we'd spend it on a couple of pints in the Belmont on a Monday, followed by a Chinese. Always had chicken with water chestnuts and beansprouts. We felt so "soho". No one ever seemed to go to the Belmont Monday disco except me and Steve. Ahh, the days...
