Fooking taxi drivers. Always in the wrong position on the road. No indicators. Suddenly changing direction. Crawling along at 15mph... I could go on. Their daily job is to drive. Why are they so universally crap at it?

Thanks. We did get a level of abuse but nothing like the stuff I hear from my police friends. There's several times where I've been either kicked, spat on, punched, grappled with or all of the above. I even had to fight with some guy trying to nick our satnav from the cab whilst we were in back of the ambulance treating a patient. I was once held "hostage" having been called to a spurious call to an unconscious male in his own home. I went in and his mother locked me in the room and she was armed with two kitchen knives threatening to "cut me up". He wasn't unconscious and to this day I don't know what the motive was. It was quite scary. My radio panic button was used several times. I have a lot of different memories, mostly good, some pretty bad, and many that I can smile about, knowing I did "something".

When I was a trainee copper at 17, my "mates" used to sing that song to me as a "joke". One of the reasons I didn't pursue that career.

As you say, you can't guarantee a goal would have been scored That's the issue and also the degree of certainty is very open to different (literal) views and interpretations. The shot might have hit the post or gone wide or over the bar. You can't book and red card a player based on what is an unforeseen outcome.

We're just not as good as we like to think we are. The PL is touted as the best league in the world and then you see top teams from Europe and you begin to realise it's all FA and media hype.

I don't understand why the simple and often effective 4-4-2 has been ditched for more complicated ways of playing. Applies to many teams in the entire EFL and PL.
