Absolutely NOT happening, but Marco Rose was near the top of my list to replace Brendan during the summer before we went down and things were souring here. Just been sacked by Klopp at Lepzig. Poor season this year but leaves them only 2 points off Champions League football. If we are an aspiring premier league team, our hat should at least be in the ring even if it's laughed out of the room.

What’s the best plan for our squad next season?

For me keeping Okoli is a must, I know he's had a bit of a tough start to life with us, but he's joined a club in turmoil and has shown real glimpses of class at times despite being rough around the edges, he's young, really athletic and a year in the Championship could be just the run he needs to properly settle into English football, I think he could be a prem defender in a couple of seasons, and we are unlikely to make our money back selling him now. Even if we got 10m for him, replacing him with another 10m defender isn't likely to give us much of an upgrade. Him and Nelson could form a very good partnership at this level. -

Yeah i'd happily sell to be fair, I was more thinking along the lines of him not really being our biggest issue at the championship level, he's got a decent attitude and will run for us, but if we got a bid in of 5-8 i'd let him go if we had a replacement lined up! Same for Vestergaard too, I've put him in starting 11 by mistake actually, was meant to be keep in the squad, but that's solely on the basis that we've given him a stupid contract that we can't terminate and nobody is likely to come in for him. with 2 years left it would be an expensive one to get rid of and at that level we know he can perform. If there is a way to get him off the books with a cost of say £2m though i'd HAPPILY do that. -

If we keep losing he won't have any offers. Ruud in. -
I don't think Rosenior would entertain us (or Motta), if he was to leave he will be offered a bigger job than us given his turnaround at strasbourg, my only concern would be his style is quite cautious from what i've seen, im sure he was sacked from Hull because he wasn't attacking enough? They scored quite a few goals under Rosenior though so I guess it was more about the style and build up rather than the goals. His Strasbourg team aren't exactly brimming with talent relative to the teams above them but their goals scored aren't amazing. Would be lucky to get him though.

Went for clear out, but I am assuming that would give us breathing room to spend, if getting rid of players like Ayew/BDCR (somehow) allows us to spend a few million or loan a young, hungry winger with a buy option i'm all for it, if clearing out those players/wages still puts us in a position where we have to hunt around for free agents to replace them then we might aswell keep. CONTEXT: Vardy - Club legend, but his wages are still too high at championship level for a club that wants to have a complete reset, he would be amazing to have around the club for his replacement as a mentor, but at the level of the Championship he would still undoubtedly be the main striker over a young, hungry replacement. I can just see him getting 30+ games again next year and us signing a "replacement" who sits on the bench, unless he's willing to accept a massive massive pay cut (more than 50%) and accept low playing time like Morgan did, it's time to move on, if he's still going to want regular playing time it's just kicking the can down the road imo. Ndidi - Would love to keep but he simply doesn't deserve to go down with us again, move on for his career and wish him well, if he chose to stay he goes straight into the 11. Ayew/BDCR - The step down in level is massive, these 2 are unlikely to have many suiters, we might get stuck with them unless the price makes sense, ideally I'd like to terminate both and take the hit but not sure we can afford it, if I had to keep one it would be Ayew. Kristiansen - Sellable asset and I think Justin/Thomas are capable of doing a solid job for us in the championship, Kristiansen has made a LOT of mistakes this season, Thomas has looked less of a bomb scare imo, but if Kristiansen was determined to stay he's going to be good enough for the championship comfortably. Bilal - I think with some of his performances in the last 10 games or so and how we are doing as a team, I don't think Bilal will have a huge amount of wiggle room to properly force a sale somewhere worth going to unless it's in Europe, I think we have a strong hand to keep him and promise to build around him. Mcateer - Sell if price is right, if not keep, did well in the first half of last season at this level but tailed off with the rest of the squad during the slump. Players not included in the tier list: Alves - Keep and build around Monga - Promise game time and a squad built to help him Nelson - Keep and build around Evans - Keep and Build around Souttar - Not sold on him, give him a pre season and decide to loan or give minutes, seems comfortable in Championship so might be worth keeping. Core squad for next season (capable of top 4 imo) -
Yeah I wouldn't want Juventus motta, I'd take Bologna motta though, they were quite entertaining whilst controlling possession

Tbh given the players we have at this club I'd much rather he didn't pass....

Seems pretty clear at this point we can't afford to sack and are limping to the championship -
Thiago Motta has just been sacked by Juventus.....

Would be an interesting punt for sure, my only concern is we need someone who will come in and facilitate a top to bottom restructuring of the playing and coaching staff, QSF can never seem to keep a job more than 18 months.

Coldest you’ve ever been at a game
cityfanlee23 replied to Nolucklcfc's topic in Leicester City Forum
One game really stands out to me but it's not following Leicester, mate is a Wednesday fan and we went to watch Sheffield Wednesday away at MK Dons in January 2013, Tuesday night kick off in the FA Cup, this was before Stadium MK had finished construction, the private boxes at the top of the stands had not yet been installed so there was a massive gap behind the away fans, it was a windy night and the temperature was in the minus, the icy wind was coming through the gap at top of the stadium and whipping down the stands, genuinely couldn't feel my feet after about 15 minutes. Sheffield Wednesday absolutely stunk the place out, and Dave Jones sat in the dugout with his arms crossed and literally didn't move the entire game, fans ended up giving him dogs abuse for his completely lack of effort to change anything or rally the team/fans. I'll never forget how cold I felt that night. It wasn't even ridiculous temperatures, but that icy wind was whipping down the stands making it feel like it was -10. -
Lawson struggling massively but credit to him in his interviews he’s taken full accountability, a lot of drivers under pressure look for excuses like traffic, tyre window etc, Lawson has taken full responsibility.

Dominant! Roll on qualifying!

Imagine where they would be without Palmer playing Ballon D’or level football for the majority of this season until recently. Massive squad brimming with talent, 250m spent, requested more in January, 21 points off the title, and only a point ahead of Man City who have had one of their worst seasons in recent history. The football is often boring (but makes a great highlight reel when it works), it’s predictable and he suffered the same collapse in form that he did with us, overrated by Leicester fans imo, nowhere near elite.
-
Chancel Mbemba on a free in summer would be a massive steal for the Championship, should have got him in January, I doubt he would want to step down but we should be in for him IMO.
-
The Championship is a perfect opportunity to bring a young hungry striker in with a point to prove and give him a full season run to show what he can do before (hopefully) getting promoted and being ready for the top flight. Giving Vardy another contract and him scoring double figures is just another nail in the coffin of being able to adequately replace him when he likely retires after promotion. Now is not the time for being sentimental, it's the time for a full squad reset, that includes the greatest striker of the modern era, the last thing we need is a striker maybe struggling to adapt and needing game time, but being starved of it because a 39 year old Vardy can still score in the championship. We need to stop thinking short term, that's what got the club into this mess.

If you’ve not watched it, the F1 tribute on YouTube is fantastic, what an inspiring life. Sad sad loss

Finally, some sport I can get excited about on a weekend 🤣 hope he can take pole for the main race, great quali session!
-
Meh. Hes better than cooper and ruud, hate the football, massively stubborn manager who imo has been underwhelming at Chelsea despite spending 250m at a club overflowing with talent and still wanting more in January. Would rather go in another direction but no doubt he’s an upgrade on Ruud.

We can have a joint celebration, Top taking responsibility and Leicester City winning the Ryder Cup

The sad part is, I still have that niggling thought in my head of "what if?" What if we drop to the championship and he's able to bring in the players to play his system? What if we drop to the championship and he's able to properly rebuild the backroom staff and scouting network? What if we drop to the championship and he's able to properly drive standards at the club which clearly are lacking? The championship as we saw last season is dog water standard compared to the premier league, I feel like the drop down in class would see us fighting for top 6 if Ruud stayed on, but I have absolutely zero evidence to suggest that is the case, Ruud is giving me nothing to feel excited or confident for, I can't really see what his tactics are trying to achieve apart from some pretty football in transition that inevitably breaks down the moment we step into the opponents final 3rd. -
You're right, either there is 4m available or we breach PSR, either way if we can't spend £4m then we are stuck with Ruud for the considerable future anyway, which is frightening.
-
Completely get your point, I just hope come the summer he is available, but there will be other options out there if he's not, sadly it's in the hands of the circus upstairs.
