  1. We'll absolutely pop a new contract under his nose if he only has two seasons left at the end of this one, he'll have earnt it too if he keeps this up.
  2. Surely Chilwell does, just to get him around the squad - especially with the absence of Shaw? I think Gray would too.
  3. You could argue that Foden, Maddison and maybe Dowell (even Barnes if he continues his current form for a sustained period) all have an emphasis on technique and touch over speed. Emile Smith Rowe at Arsenal looked a real gem in pre season too. More a forward but Sancho looks to have a mix of quickness and technique that'll see him in the seniors before long if he can get playing consistently for Dortmund. ---- It's also a huge shame Everton are completely wasting Ade Lookman when he wanted to go to Leipzig after a good loan there last year. He'd surely get a go given the dearth of striking options we have if he was back playing and scoring regularly in the Bundesliga. I think we've got a hugely promising generation coming through that are well deserving of the hype and buzz they're getting, it's whether or not we can look after them that's the key. So many wasted talents in English football.
  4. He's a different type of forward but I'd much rather see Callum Wilson ahead of Rashford. Kane, Lingard and Alli were very poor. There are definitely places for forward players to lay claim to if Southgate is brave enough to drop some of the national under performers.
  5. It's honestly such an easy format to understand, I wasn't clued up so a few weeks back I just read the Wikipedia article, it does make sense even if there are a few flaws in how sides can qualify for the Euros via it. Fundamentally it gives lesser fancied sides like San Marino etc a chance of real, competitive action against nations of a similar billing (or at least, as similar as possible).
  6. Sky's coverage of football is on a different planet to any other broadcaster in this country let alone itv who are the worst of the lot, they aren't comparable whatsoever. itv's coverage of football always feels cheap, their pre-match England / Croatia build up was sensationally abysmal, had me wincing. I'm delighted I won't have to sit through Glenn Hoddle, Mark Pougatch, or Clive Tyldsley.
  7. Don't really get the tone of this – would you rather we threw him against arguably the most potent attack in the league while he wasn't fully fit? Think it was widely acknowledged / recognised that he'd be involved after the break.
  8. We signed him and Powell in summer 2014, after we'd been promoted.
  9. I don't give O'Neill much longer, granted the pool of players he has to pick from is dire but I don't think he has much credit in the bank at all after the Danish embarrassment in Dublin.
  10. Comparatively, Wednesday spent some serious cash on absolute dross under Dave Richards didn't they? They've never properly recovered from that near enough twenty years down the line bar a few play-off seasons.
  11. They really look after their fans and are spending within their means. Don't hugely buy into any idea that any club is "tinpot" regardless, I include Bournemouth in that despite the fact they've obviously been well bankrolled. You make your own history, and throwing that term around just seems entitled to me, the type of thing clubs living off past glories would churn out to compensate for the fact they're languishing below where they feel their "rightful place" is while smaller clubs like Bournemouth continue to finish comfortably in the top flight.
  12. Out of curiosity, what makes Huddersfield "tinpot"?
  13. In the scenarios given though - Watford should be compared to our title winning side, and Wolves the side from 14/15. No chance Watford are better than us in 15/16, absolutely no chance. Wouldn't mind them ruffling a few feathers, it'd be great for the division, but they'll fizzle out.
  14. I just completed this quiz. My Score 80/100 My Time 130 seconds
  15. Completely different players and a bizarre comparison.
  16. That'll go under the radar because of the absolute (and brilliant) state of West Ham but that is a very tidy result for them, Palace should be seeing them off comfortably at home. I'd still have us as the "best of the rest" at the moment, once we get Soyuncu in we'll be a very decent side.
  17. We played well but we really have to stop substituting players that are influencing games and start matches with our heads screwed on.
  18. I can't remember the point he was making regarding something else as I was only semi-watching this the other night, but Lennon absolutely took him apart over one of his weird opinions.
  19. Our reserves are better than their reserves
  20. Spurs got out of a trickier group than that last season but I think people are underestimating Inter Milan.
  21. In Sky's highlights alone he crossed with his right for Iheanacho to hit the post with a header and he sets the ball with his right for the goal...
  22. The strange thing about the Hart signing is they had a more than adequate third choice in Lindegaard who wouldn't have disgraced himself in the three or four games he'd have been called upon until Heaton came back, then Pope. Just bizarre as he's surely on a decent enough packet there.
  23. He went through the back of him, penalty the right call. Chelsea less than convincing so far apart from against arguably the worst side in the league.
