Thanks for getting us promoted but I can’t help but feel a lot about watching us last season like I do England and Southgate. I should be more appreciative of what they both achieved but watching just doesn’t excite me enough. I’m not convinced by the view that he will do well because he has better players at chelsea. While effective in certain respects his system was flawed and had weak points and teams had worked out how to stifle us and expose these weak points. Regardless of how good the players he has are these weak points will still be evident and exposed even more by better and more proficient teams unless he will change things.

Could this be the season when we all look at brighton and say “yeah, they were winging it after all”

I just hope we get a few rumours, some shocking, some clearly never going to happen. Because if we quietly go about our business then appoint someone out of the blue it’ll be a dull manager search. Last season there was a couple of matches I couldn’t get to so I passed my ticket on to someone who would go with my lad. Easy. How they’d want us to do it would mean whoever I would pass my ticket to would have to ring the club and try and buy a ticket as close as possible to my lads or ring the club and relocate my lad next to where he’d got a ticket. Why in this day and age are they making things so complicated when the system has worked perfectly well before, whoever has the ticket is liable for who uses it.

Me: can't make it this weekend wife: I’ll have your ticket me: sorry, you can’t, you’re not a member or me: sorry, you can’t, you’ve already had it 5 times this season so you need to ring the club up and buy a ticket. I can give it Dave down the pub though. wife: Dave who? Me: don’t know his second name, I just have a few pints with him Saturday afternoons, but he’s a member.

If I can’t make a match I’ll pass my ticket to a friend or family member. I’ve never used the resale platform, if no one has wanted it my seats gone empty. So the ridiculous nature of this system, if I’ve got this right, is that if I wanted to give my mobile ticket to my wife she’d have to pay to become a member so I could forward the ticket up to 5 times. After that I’d have to put it on the resale platform and she’d have to buy a ticket from the club, effectively making the same household pay twice for the same seat???

It’s waffling bullshit, most top flight clubs do this, some even with their academies.
