  1. You have your (hidden) ELO rating. So basically you get a +1 for winning a game and a -1 for losing a game. So if you're on 7 wins, 2 losses you have a rating of +5, but if you have say 4 wins, 6 losses, your rating would be -2. I think the highest positive rating you can get is +14 (not sure about negative). The game tries to match you up with players who have a similar (though not exactly the same) rating. That's why you'll find if you start really well and go say 8 - 0, you'll start losing a lot - because your rank is going higher, and you're coming up against much better players who also have a good rating. Similarly, if you have a terrible start, your rating will be poor, you'll be more likely to come up against poor players, and you'll start to win more later on. It's the reason why people tend to finish roughly the same rank each week. If I play 30 games, I tend to finish Gold 2. I can also rubber band (because I'm scum) the first 10 games, and still finish Gold 2. Because if I rubber band the first 10 games, I have a rating of -10, so I'm going to be coming up against poor players; chances are I'm going to win most, if not all of the next 10 games at least (I tend to finish on about +4/+5, I reckon), because I'll be against players much worse than myself until my ranking balances out. The problem is this - if you DNF / "rage quit" a game, it doesn't lower your ranking. Reason for this is probably very simple - lots of people would just quit their first 10 games or so, so they can come up against easier players. So say you played won games (+10), and lost 9 (-9). Your current ranking would be +1, and you'd be coming up against other players who are around +1. But if you won 10 games (+10) and rage quit 9 (-0), your current ranking would be +10, and you're still getting put against players who are also at around that high ranking. So even though you're still getting battered, the game isn't putting you against easier opponents. It's why you should never quit a WL game. Better to stick an elastic band on and walk off, because at least then you're next game might be a little easier.
  2. Most people won't quit, because of how the matchmaking. If you quit games, you're always going to be stuck against harder opponents.
  3. So poor since his return from injury.
  4. Ive said this for months now, but I think vardy is pretty much done. As a starter, at least.
  5. Managed to finish 17 - 11. Gave away my last 2 games, like the gentleman I am. Really was sweaty this weekend. Last team I came up against was a Red Mane, and 11 icons.
  6. Got the Toney card tradable. Was going to sell him, but he's actually pretty good. - his shooting is absolutely ridiculous, and he's a strong link to Rooney, so think I'll keep him. Also got Will Hughes, but untradable, and two other championship CB's.
  7. I think it has to be 2 out of 3 of Barnes/Vardy/Nacho. Just rotate them based on form, who we're playing, etc. Vardy could probably use some rest.
  8. Good to see he's creating at least. However, that shot from the half way line...
  9. Nacho off?!?!?!?! ?!?!?!?!?!
  10. Terrible shot, but gotta commend the touch from Nacho.
  11. I liked the "Greedy Six" terminology
  12. Oops, double post
  13. I would prefer her to Choudhury to be fair!
  14. A Rodger's 6-weeks-injury is 2 years though.
  15. You think that someone who has scored something like 9 goals in 9 games has posed more of a threat than someone who has scored like 1 in 17? Who knew
  16. Seems like it still is a debate, to me. They've both been invisible.
  17. Sterling is involved in the build-up a little more though.
  18. Vardy has to take some responsibility himself at some point. If you can only score when someone hands you the ball on a plate 6 yards out, then you're probably not pulling your weight in the team.
  19. Saves time. The way the match-making works is that the more you win, the harder the opponents / more you lose, the easier the opponents. If I rubber band the first 10 games, then it puts me against much easier opponents. Half of them I batter so much that they end up quitting in in the first half, saving even more time. Last weekend, I rubber banded the first 10 games. I finished up with 17 wins, 12 losses, which is about where I'd normally finish anyway.
  20. Nice stroke of FIFA luck. Needed a decent RW for my team (been using Mahrez so far). So decided to do the Reus SBC, and play him on 7 chem, because good RW's seem to be hard to come by. I have 0 coins and was pushing it for fodder, so finally gave in and opened the 85+ x 5 pack I'd been saving for the next promo. Pulled the What If Sancho (92) from it Guess I don't need to do Reus now! Edit: I'm also ashamed to admit this, but I feel like I should own up - I've taken to rubber banding my first 10 WL games
  21. I did warn you
  22. Yeah, to be honest he looks like a great card. It's just in the full back position, I aleady have 88 Bender, 87 WIF Mbabu, 88 De Sciglio, Prime Cole, Klaiber, Freeze Traore and IF Hernandez 86 rated (has like 97 pace, so great sub), so I'm pretty much stacked there. Do love a full back. Pretty much all 3 of my subs in a game tend to be full-backs
  23. WIF Yuri Berchiche 89 rated LB, not bad! Doesn't fit in my team, but I suppose I can't complain with that.
  24. Do I really do the Party Bag again after this last time? Am I that stupid? Yes I am. Here goes...
  25. Yeah, I did him. After the first WL league, I was convinced it was the worst FIFA decision I've ever made. I had some games where he conceded 6 goals from 6 shots. He's been pretty good since though. However, I don't reckon he's any better than Courtois, who I used before.
