Political ideology is a tricky one. What do they mean by teaching "woke left ideology"? I teach KS1 children, so party politics doesn't tend to crop up. But because I try to teach them not to be back-stabbing arseholes that only look out for themselves, does that mean I'm pushing anti-conservative ideology?

Honestly, he's supposed to be our third/fourth choice cb. In that regard he's more than good enough. Thought he's been fine so far. Probably wouldn't want him as a regular first choice, but more than good enough to deputise.

I imagine it could get frustrating quite quickly if you were a mega-talented footballer, and the rest of the team weren't on your level. I understand why people would choose Leicester, but it takes a great deal of sacrifice and drive to be a professional footballer, and I imagine most of them are competitive enough that they actually want to win something. I doubt any of them want to get to the end of their career thinking "I was good enough to have won trophies, but the rest of the team were holding me back". If you're a top player, you want to play in the top competitions and you want to win trophies, because you want to be the best. Obviously if the stars align (like our title win) then that's the perfect scenario, but how often does that actually happen? So I suppose if the question was "move to an equally placed team for a pay-rise", I'd like to think I'd stay at Leicester, if I were happy there. But if I was hovering around the upper third of the table, and I had chance to move to a top 3 team, then yeah, I think most players would take that chance.

If we get a few seasons from him, a hell of a lot of cash, and he moves to a non-prem team, then I won't complain. It's always slightly sad to hear players say "Would love to play for 'x' but got to be realistic - not many players grow up wanting to play for Leicester, and even the top Prem teams can't keep their players if Real Madrid come calling.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to argue with here. The point which spawned this conversation was (I paraphrase) Democrat states are doing better than Republican states in terms of illness/death, and this is because of a higher vaccine uptake. So which part of this statement are you arguing against? Are you trying to argue that Democrat states aren't doing better (post vaccine) than Republican states? Is it that Democratic states don't have a higher vaccine uptake? Is it that Covid deaths bear no correlation with the proportion of vaccinated people? Throw me a bone here, because I'm not quite sure what you're disagreeing with.

Why are you talking about Republican Governors? Seems like the conversation was about republican states, not Governors. And it seems fairly logical, given that... People who refuse the vaccine are more likely to be hospitalised or die from covid. (fact) People who vote Republican are more likely to refuse the vaccine. (fact) Republican states are more likely to have a higher percentage of Republican voters. (Admittedly I haven't verified this fact, but I'll eat my own leg if it's not the case). I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but even I can deduce that Republican voters are more likely to become seriously ill/die from Covid, and therefore Republican states aren't going to do as well. Which part of that premise are you disagreeing with?
