  1. Hit Gold 2 with 3 games to go, so thought, why not, I'll have a go at getting my first Gold 1. Won the first two games, to go 19 - 10. Last game. Losing 4 - 2. Scored an 86th and 90th minute goal to take it to extra time. By the 110th minute, I was winning 6 - 5. End up losing 7 - 6, to a 120th minute winner
  2. Yeah, I didn't want to take the risk with the Icon pack. Wish I had though. I thought Keane might replace my RTTF N'didi or Kante (not that I wanted to replace either, but currently can only get Rooney, Kante and N'didi on 8 chem) He's slow - which I expected. But he's also clunky, and doesn't seem like he wants to tackle anyone most of the time. He just lets people walk past him most of the time, and because of his high aggression seems to charge in stupidly where he shouldn't, gets bypassed by an easy 1 - 2, and is then too slow to catch up with them
  3. I made a huge mistake. I put all my fodder into the Roy Keane SBC. He is.....not great....
  4. Got to be Thomas. Not ideal, but may as well make the best out of a very bad situation and give him some experience.
  5. Life absolutely sucks. **** the NHS. Dealt with debilitating chronic pain for over 11 months now which has absolutely ruined my life. So far I have had numerous phone call appointments, and only had one in-person appointment. Had a (useless) phone appointment with the hospital in September, who said they'd finally see me in person in 2-3 months (so about December) to run some tests. Many months later, I received the letter for an appointment in April - 7 months after my previous one. Oh, and here's the kicker - it's another ****ing phone appointment. What's the ****ing point. Sorry for the rant, but I'm definitely nearing the "jumping off a bridge" stage. Chronic pain just ****s you up.

    The gym

Late to the party, but can confirm that these are decent. Bought a 45kg barbell from them a few weeks back, was a pretty good price compared to anywhere on amazon.
  7. Somehow you've united both the left and the right on this forum. Maybe you should lead the country Loathe as I am to defend the Tories, especially Patel, I don't think I'll be adding "unwilling to let all prisoners die of covid" to her charge sheet. Edit: But to expand on the argument, I'd find the Government being arbiters of who deserves a vaccine and who doesn't, based on moral values (as opposed to scientific/medical ones) rather worrying. Maybe they should expand it into more moral groups - if you donate to charity, and remember to floss every night, you go to top of the vaccination list. If you watch Gogglebox, then you're not getting vaccinated 'til at least group 9. Edit 2: The only thing that really surprises me is that "prisoners not getting vaccines" seems right up Patel's street. I bet she's already suggested it.
  8. We wouldn't know because he barely gets a game
  9. Going to stick my neck on the line. We're not going to win this. Hamza is going to make a stupid mistake leading to a goal for Fulham. Happy to be proven wrong (and I'm glad to see Riccy P and Soyncu back) but I'm not feeling positive.
  10. I can't start him, because my team is mostly prem, but I thought he'd make a good impact sub instead of Freeze Gnabry. Doesn't seem any better though. Ah well, I had fodder to use anyway, so can't complain.
  11. Yeah, I've learned to ignore the posts on Reddit about SBC's "playing much better than their stats". I think half of them are people trying to convince themselves they've not made a big mistake, haha. I did do Dybala, but not Ronaldo. That being said, I thought Dybala would be better - has been a little underwhelming for me.
  12. Our good recruitment seems limited to midfielders and defenders though. When it comes to attackers, we're massively off the boil. Our main attacking threats are 1. Vardy (signed in 2012) and Barnes (academy). In terms of attackers, we've signed/loaned in the prem, the list reads as: Perez, Ghezzal, Iheanacho, Diabate, Musa, Slimani, Ulloa, Gray, Okazaki, Nathan Dyer, Karamaric Out of those 11, how many can we say were a success here? Okazaki, and possibly Ulloa if I'm being generous (though only for his contribution to the title win, he never really nailed down a starting spot). That's 2 out of 11, and even then neither of them were known for their goal scoring prowess. That totals up to about £150m spent on attackers. Under seems the most promising attacking talent we've seen since Mahrez. He's a bit raw, but I really hope we sign him. I do agree that he doesn't play the same way as the rest of the team, so far. But he is very direct. People talk about needing a 'Plan B' (which doesn't always have to mean, Big Man Up Front) and playing Under offers a slightly different threat to what we've got.
  13. I thought he wasn't great last season. He was ok, but out of the midfield 3 of Wilf, Tielemans and Maddison, I thought he was the poorest of the 3. Good on his day, but too many 'sloppy' passes straight to the opposition, and always looked knackered early on. This season, I'd say it's between him and JJ as our players of the season. He's really stepped it up a gear.

    Hamza

Maybe we could do a swap deal for Saint-Maximin.
  15. That ball from Under was beautiful
  16. Same. Dembele and Lacazete
  17. He's made himself undroppable again, ffs. Absolutely ridiculous. Hats off to him!
  18. I think he gets underrated a lot on here. When we eventually have to replace him, people might appreciate how good he actually is.
  19. I had a bit of a melt-down on Fifa last night. I traded nearly my entire club in for the (outrageously expensive) Prime Kaka card. Horrible decision really in hindsight, but I started it off, thinking I had lots of fodder, got half way through and thought "shit, don't have nearly as much as I thought". But was too late to go back at that point, so I went all in. Had a lovely Bundesliga and La Liga team that I ended up trading in, including POTM Lewandoski, Red Suarez, Red Aspas and Red Casimero, Freeze Capa, Robben, the special Coman card, the free Beckham card, the list is endless... To be fair, none of them ever really got played (other than maybe Robben as a super-sub), but it was nice to have a full La Liga and Bundesliga teams to go with my main one. Pretty much only have my starting XI and 3 subs left at this point! And I'm still about three 87 cards away from completing the SBC too, but I can't part with my POTM Felix, Red Hernandez, or Freeze Gnabry, so I'll have to wait for the rewards on Thursday.
  20. Finally got base icon pack from swaps. Got Ashley Cole. Not bad I suppose. Only problem is I already have Freeze Traore and IF Hernandez, both who are probably better.
  21. I had the 86 Goretzka from one of my red WL picks, and he was great. Looks like you've got a nice card on your hands there!
  22. I agree. It's also doubled my work-load. Edit: Ok, I don't agree entirely. It is much easier to distance them with the reduced numbers. But while that might have been good enough previously, at the point we're at now, I don't think that's enough.
  23. Yup. Nearly 50% of my class is in.
  24. I don't think any school has known that there was going to be a country-wide lockdown. Why would they expect one now, especially when... 1). When schools tried to close a week early to stop transmission, the Government threatened them with legal action 2). We've just had a 2 week holiday, which would have been the perfect time to announce that, and no announcement was forthcoming. 3). The Government announced on Sunday that schools would be open as normal. As much as I agree a lockdown is needed, all the noises coming out the Government camp have been that there would absolutely be no lock-down and schools would not be closed. Schools have known that home learning is a possibility if their bubble goes down - I myself have taught two weeks at home, when my bubble was closed because of Covid cases - and are prepared for such cases. However, that's very different to "lock-down", because all of a sudden there are a lot more factors to consider, the most pressing one being Key Worker children. Who qualifies as a key worker? How many are we going to have? How many bubbles do you put them in? Who looks after them if all the staff are teaching their class remotely? How do you do lunches for them, if lunch staff aren't coming in? What do we need to put on the new risk-assessment? All this stuff needs time (and communication with parents) to sort out. Going in tomorrow is going to be a nightmare, and we can't teach the children at home until we sort out a plan and system to accommodate key worker children at the same time. Similarly, lots of teachers have prepared their classrooms and planned lessons for the week/fortnight/month which are now completely unusable, because teaching remotely (especially in primary) and teaching in a classroom are completely different. Preparing work for online teaching is much, much trickier. When I was e-teaching, I found I was spending at least 3-4 hours a night just preparing resources for the next day, because - and especially when you're teaching young kids - everything has to be very visual to keep them engaged while sat in front of a computer for hours each day. So these teachers are now going to be a little pissed that the work they've done over the holidays is all for waste, just because the Government weirdly decided they'd rather pretend that this situation was sprung on them suddenly and unexpectedly. 6 weeks is a long time, so ideally we also need to be sending out work-books and other resources. With a little bit of notice - even a day or two - this could have gone a lot more smoothly. The whole thing is very bizarre.
