I know it’s controversial but… shit players can look good in la liga. you need to be more robust in the prem, in la liga you get all the time in the world so if you’re technically good you will get good numbers. when Perez was pressed he folded and it’s no surprise that his goals came against poor opposition that didn’t defend as well (Sheffield I’m looking at you) There’s a reason people like morata can suddenly look world class in that league. and if I’m being completely fair… what la liga teams would call bad defenders, can be a success in England as technical ability doesn’t matter as much.

Those clubs have been laying the groundwork for this for some time now. belittling the cup competitions to a point that their fans accept when they don’t take part in them. There’s no super league where these teams also play in the cups. They’d probably negotiate a fee bye to the quarter finals

I’m not sure the extent of wilfs injury, or the extent of the fall outs at psv. But you have to wonder if Ruud would want a reunion with Sangare? He’s not getting a look in at forest so I’m sure they’d cash in.

That last goal proves why you have to practice defending pep! Absolutely horrendous, matteus gives up when in reality at that pace even he could have got it. And gvardiol… my days! A professional defender getting megged at that pace… he never looked like stopping that. someone experienced like coady blocks that 10/10 times

The thing is though, that’s down to luck rather than cooper having us more defensively stable. In so many games shipped plenty of chances that should have resulted in hammerings but cooper carried over some of that luck he had with forest and the chances seemed to stay out the net (for the most part) if cooper had stayed the hammerings would have started coming.

Since winning the league 25 signings I’d call complete flops - compared to 24 worth signing… with a few not included as the results are unknown (including soumare) That’s why the club got relegated and most of the signings I’d call worthwhile were when we were in the championship
