I think the situation with cooper and the fans is similar to how england were with southgate. We all know we have quality attacking options and want to see us ply to our strengths rather than taking the safe option. I think he’s mostly been lucky, it’s not our defensive shape that’s kept arsenal or spurs at bay, more good keeping and bad attempts on goal. If he continues to grind out results no matter what we think, he’ll keep his job and I don’t think we will mind that much. But the bottom line is that xg is a great indicator and our underlying stats don’t point to us deserving what’s presently on the board. At the end of the day we will always have a chance because this team is good enough individually to score against most teams and that might be enough to scrape results together. I was expecting ipswich in particular to do far better than they have.

If cooper actually watched all our games from last season like he claimed, there’s no way you’d leave out fatawu for this game. I’ve not seen a player terrorize a team as much as fatawu against this lot with the way they play

Completely correct but I don’t think that necessarily that’s the right thing for the manager to do. You don’t just chuck someone in if they aren’t the best option. However, that is exactly what these cups should be used for. Test the level. He needs a chance to show if he could be ready, a 5 min cameo if we are cruising proves nothing. Let him start or come off the bench when things aren’t going our way. If he’d come on against walsall at 0-0 and done nothing I wouldn’t be thinking he should be playing in the league right now. But if he’d come on and made an impact then he should really be in contention. My point is, that it shouldn’t just be a freebie because you are from the academy but we should be making opportunities for those players when the situation is right. Tranmere and walsall in a cup, that’s not our priority, were those moments. We’ve learnt nothing from those games and for what… so we can go and lose 3-0 to man united in the last 16. Waste of everyone’s energy tbqh.

disagree really, they are well managed but in terms of players, there are very few in their side id want to sign. if any to be quite honest. You’d take them but there’s no real stars in that team. man for man, there’s really not a lot of difference in us… but manager for manager…. there’s a huge gulf in class

do you know who the real victims are, the sh*t kids at football. When I was growing up, if you weren’t good technically but loved the game, you switched to play defence where you could just be told “if in doubt get it out”. Now days that’s not a thing and those who just have a passion for the game, will struggle to fit in a side. I don’t think I personally would have developed as a player if my coaches had always been obsessed with that way of playing the game. I almost certainly would have dropped out before I could have learnt. I developed the technical side of my game later in life

I think as fans we know how good the squad can be. From the outside I think it’s fair to just assume we are being spoilt and expect to win the league again. But we know we are 10x better than what we are getting and we also know the players aren’t buying the manager or his philosophy ( or lack of) I genuinely believe we are better than everton, ipswich and southampton… that’s the bare minimum we should be getting from anyone in charge
