If Monga was coming through between 2018 and 2021 then the fans would be fuming that he's not already on loan and playing 46 games a season in the EFL.

I was annoyed with the result and the fact we were down to 10 men as a result of two extremely soft yellow cards. Them taking a picture in their dressing room didn't annoy me and I don't see why anyone would get annoyed with that.

I never really understood why this upset so many. That was a massive game for them and they had every right to celebrate that result.

Oh yeah and that's all worked out perfectly hasn't it. This all stems from a Director of Football not directing the football. The operation of a successful club (long term) is one where if the manager leaves, the club keeps moving forward. Yes, you can get lucky and keep your successful manager for a long time (Brendan here, Howe at Newcastle, Frank at Brentford etc) but clubs our size are always subject to one of two scenarios. 1, continued success leads to people leaving and 2, things turn sour). We need to rebuild the club starting off the pitch as opposed to continually building on sand. Putting Vestergaard on a 3 year contract because Enzo liked him, signing Ayew/BDCR becuase they're 'proven' in the Premier League, replacing Kasper with Ward because Brendan was happy with him etc. Nothing lines up properly and it's why we continually find ourselves in the shit. The only way things improve is when we get a proper DoF in that knows what he's doing, has a clear way of running the club and has an ideology that is compatible with the fans (using the academy, playing a direct/hardworking style of play and buying low/selling high). Letting managers dictate the club despite the fact their way of playing is totally different from the last manager that was here 10 minutes ago is what is killing us. We gave Brendan Rodgers far too much room to work in and we haven't filled anything that he's left behind. We desperately need to realign 1st team manager, academy and scouting and the only way that happens is with Rudkin being replaced.

Yeah but that's not going to happen is it. It's the Director of Football who decides who we sign and what we pay. Managers haven't had that responsibility for decades now. We need a new DoF that recruits a manager that shares his ideology. The past few years have been a joke because Rudkin has no set ideology and each manager has been totally different to the next and there's been no continual trend of the types of players we are signing.

Kirkland and Ricardo are the two worst for me. They came into the team and were immediately shit. Ward was a decent backup/cup keeper for a decent amount of time until he was thrust into the deep end and his confidence was shot to zero. I actually think he'll go somewhere like Cardiff and be a decent EFL keeper. I wouldn't have said the same about Kirkland or Ricardo. Kasper - by a mile - the best in my lifetime.

His last 4 months or so has been fairly crap. I think £25m is a fair price and I also think he'll prove to be a bargain for someone.

Absolutely criminal that we got relegated with 6 games to go when this is the state of English football. An FA Cup finalist vs a team that has spent the entire season in 3rd and it's as bad as this. We'd muller both of these sides with our 19/20 side. In fact I think that team would have finished 2nd behind Liverpool. The standard this season has been wank.

I know people used to laugh about it with Yakubu but genuinely Mateta only brings goals to your team. He's absolutely shit but a very good finisher. Feed him chances and he will score but there's no way he'll make them for himself. A complete carthorse.
