Funny old game isnt it. I thought our midfield was very poor again. That said, my confidence in Marti has gone up a lot. I thought he managed the game brilliantly.

The long term back 4 IMO will be Ricardo, Okoli, Nelson and Thomas. Do wish we could get a left back thats genuinely good on the ball and going forward but I cant' see it.

I think we'd have all taken 9 points from the first 4 if offered. Back to back clean sheets after the PNE shambles reflects well on Marti IMO. Even if they're both against newly promoted teams.

Started the season very well for Spurs but it's extremely telling that all you need to do to get an England cap these days is play for a Big 6 club and play well twice.

Jakub - 6 - Didn't have much to do, really. Made one good save and flapped at one cross. Thought his passing was good though, other than his longer range passes out to the wingers which always went out of play. Hamza - 7 - Was having a great game until he got booked for a stupid tackle. After that he went into his shell. Okoli - 6 - Thought he did well without doing anything too impressive. His passes down the line were awful though. Vestergaard - 6 - Pretty much the same as Okoli. Thomas - 6 - Pretty straightforward game, neither winger for Birmingham had a good game. Soumare - 5 - Sick of seeing him only play the way he's facing because he's clearly got it in him to play on the half turn and drive the team forward. Skipp - 4 - Does the square root of **** all, every game. Page - 5 - Nice pass for the goal but otherwise looked like a child in an adults game. Not sure he's a real number 10. See him maybe as a bit more of an 8. Mavidid - 3 - Totally anonymous. Better getting on the ball and driving at defenders. Not sure this system suits him. Fatawu - 7 - Great finish for the goal and looked like he'd be our most potent threat going forward without much coming off for him. Ayew - 6 - I thought that was his best game for us down the middle. Still miles off it mind. Daka - 5 - Did a job and pushed their team back when they were causing us one or two issues. He's just such a poor footballer though. Monga - 6 - Really quiet until the moment of magic for the cross. Ricardo - 7 - Just so clearly our best player. Really need him to be fit and playing regularly. Faes - N/A

Watkins is too good to stay out of form. He'll be firing soon and Villa will look alright again but I do think they've got a bit of potential to slide a bit though. I'd be worried they've not bought in much if I was a Villa fan. Only a couple of bench players brought in so far. I think they could have done with selling a key player and reinvesting in a bit more youth to brighten their team up. I look at their squad and it's only really Morgan Rogers who would go for mega dough. You fancy their team will look very similar to how it did probably a couple of years ago which I don't think is ever healthy for a club. Very similar situation to ours when we eventually ****ed it. Be interesting to see how they avoid that.

I think we had an unbelievable squad but you can tell with your eyes that it was disjointed and we won a majority of our points on individual skill. Leicester fans weren't calling for Enzo's head for nothing. We had a long spell where we were honking. Leeds were awesome last season and battered most sides. If you gave that team a goalkeeper with hands, it wins the league with 110+ points. They had a better xGA than Burnley and Burnley obliterated the record for goals against.

I do think it helped that he played in arguably the best Championship side of all time though.

I think Woltemade is a very good signing for Newcastle. I think they're a better side if they sell Isak and buy him and Guehi with the dough.
