If Top *did* sell - who do you think might buy the club?
Sly replied to Stadt's topic in Leicester City Forum
The issue we have is that Elon Bloody Musk could own us. Unfortunately unless we start using Leicester City FC as the sales company for every Tesla sale, then our commercial revenue is that poor, he can’t bank roll us back to the Premier League. For all that everyone talks about us winning the league with such a small spend, we have quite frankly thrown money around to get us out of the Championship previously and we are cooked. The financial fair play rules have quite frankly killed us as a football club. Throwing money at stuff has masked our issues. Sadly, whilst we may the first being strangled, we might not be the last. -

Maybe his polo playing mate, Liu Shang or whatever is name is wants all in. -
I don’t think we are at the stage yet where King Power will face the pressure to sell us. They potentially still value us in the region of £200m+ personally. They are that deluded from an outsider looking in. Unless reality bites and they realise the cost to rebuild and get us back to the Premier League, I think we could be in League 1 with it depreciating further. It’s only at the point where we can cover payments and HMRC start to swoop in will we finally see a change in ownership in reality. £100m+ and we are looking at private investment firms, that will be looking at pushing us back to the top, or someone like Red Bull etc £60m bracket and you’re looking at someone like a Mike Ashley taking a chance to rebuild us. Lower than that and I think we’ll most likely en up like Portsmouth, or worse case Bury and cease to exist.

Relegation, League 1, financial implications
Sly replied to splinterdream's topic in Leicester City Forum
I honestly think that we are more likely to face a winding up order in the longer term, leading to liquidation, rather than self appointing administrators. Football clubs are money pits and maybe Aiyawatt either doesn’t want to put money in, or is struggling to. I could see us selling the training ground to K Power Holdings Limited, so should that happen, it’s basically untouchable. It’s asset stripping the shell of a company though and it’ll topple eventually if it continues on this trajectory. -
Not really, I get the concept, I personally just don’t think I’d associate with it. I know it’s about adopting something people perceive as being theirs and history around it, rather than adopting something new. Everyone with look at this differently. Phoenix clubs largely don’t get the history transferred etc, so no cups, no league, no memories etc. AFC Wimbledon and Wimbledon FC have been going at this for years. Maybe it’s because I’ve become desensitised to a large part from football itself, as it’s not the game it once was. Foxestalk I’d say if not a good demographic of the average fan base of the football club. Leicester go pop tomorrow and a Phoenix club for Leicester, I think would struggle to get off the ground and be stuck in the lower echelons of football. It’s the same reason many other Phoenix clubs fail.

He looked better playing as a forward, compared to a left back!

In reality though, aren’t we better all just supporting our local non league club? A Step 6 club needs between £80k a £250k. Would we not be better off supporting the growth of Loughborough, Shepshed, Hinckley, Harborough, Melton, Quorn, Heather etc If we are back in at Step 6, we may as rebrand it groud share with the likes of Aylestone Park if we are looking at being in the City. I think if the club folded tomorrow, you’d find most of our fan base choosing a Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal etc

This will slap a little harder this morning! Linking the video again for anyone that hasn’t watched it!

Reality is we are going to need: Stadium - Where are we playing? Finance - How are we being funded? Supporters - Would we have a fan base outside of Foxestalk that care? FA connections - To even get us in at a decent level in the football league. If we are in at National League North / South, we are going to need around £2.5m per season. I don’t have that down the back of the sofa to splurge on a pipe dream team.

Us in 23/23? Leeds in 03/04? Sunderland in 05/06? I’d say we are on a similar trajectory to those two. West Ham 02/03? Whatever went on with Schalke after Covid. I’d class Tottenhams collapse when it happens as the biggest ever. I do think us being in for 22/23 and this season would maybe make a too 5 though.

Macquarie Loan for Parachute Payments Rolled Over
Sly replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It’ll be interesting what he has to say. He does have his finger on the pulse in terms of football finances and I always find his analysis insightful. The bottom like is the loans we’ve taken allowed us to take annual payments we receive for player transfers early. What this means in reality is the likes of Chelsea would have paid us the £30m for Dewsbury-Hall over a 4 year period, or the parachute payments we receive, we’ve taken the money upfront to run the club in a lump sum, rather than having the staggered payments. So now as we receive these payments from the Premier League or Chelsea for example in the case of KDH, to goes straight to McVampire loans. They’ll have taken a % chunk as well, so we haven’t realise the full value of our actual sales. I’m not worried about the loans as they stand, as they’ll be offset by guaranteed income. It’s our running costs on a day to day basis, compared with future income that will now sink us. No one in their right mind is splurging on corporate hospitality, buying a season or match day ticket, to watch League 1 football at Premier League prices. The “King Power Cult” will, however they’re just happy customers at this point. You aren’t filling a stadium with 32,000 of them. Anyone that has ever run a corporate business P&L will know that models should be run to assess the impact of scale in terms of running the stadium half empty, or full. The underlining basis is that we will have fixed an operating costs, such as energy, maintenance, leases, insurances and even salaries, that are potentially better diluted by Do you dilute these by lowering ticket prices, food prices etc, or continue on this continued path of self destruction? They’ll have modelled all this if they’ve got competent people in the background in terms of average spend on food, buying tat from the shop, offering parking facilities to people that turn up late, taking a % of the betting spend, basically fan day experience monetisation. Do you think the people that run our club, have even reviewed the impact this sort of stuff has on us? Basic table but we should have the data to do this correctly. Ticket £ Attendance Ticket Rev Fan Spend (£15pp) Total Rev 32 19,000 £608k £285k £893k 30 21,000 £630k £315k £945k 20 25,000 £500k £375k £875k 15 32,000 £480k £480k £960k 10 32,000 £320k £480k £800k 5 32,000 £160k £480k £640k -
It blows my mind when you consider he was a coup when we signed him, as so many people wanted him. If you compare the player at Salzburg, to the one we’ve found, you’d think we’d signed a lookalike. The longer he’s stayed with us, the worse he’s got. For all his hard work a running, his simple inability to score or even have the awareness with how to take a 1 on 1, or get shots on target, blows my mind. Then you consider he’s training against Stolarkzyk and Begovik as goalkeepers and just shooting at the goes in 50% of the time, you aren’t I’m being forced to improve in training.!

We have had chances

RAMSEY!!!! Worse than Daka

No, however I also would not have my 107th shot from outside the box this season either

FATWAU ….. why?

Play Thomas up front!’!!
-
2-1!!! Thomas
-
1-1 James
-
James surely takes this …

To be honest, may as well just get rid of all of the entire coaching setup tonight if we lose. Watching us play, we have no tactics or style of play, so it’s all pointless.
-
Someone needs to tell him we don’t need to play 4-2-3-1
