The irony of Trump calling Zelensky a dictator isn’t lost on me. Whilst in the “formal sense” you couldn’t describe Trump as a Dictator either. The bloke literally spends half his time challenging democracy and started a riot to overturn the 2020 election results. He also spends half the time trying to undermine judiciary and the I don’t know how many times he’s accused the media of spreading “fake news”, when it doesn’t fit his rhetoric.

Trump and Vance are about as trustworthy as Stalin and Molotov!

In fairness @leicsmac, that was only a few days ago. I’m no expert, however I read about it and found it quite interesting.

The obviously should have rolled over and just let Russia cherry pick what areas it wanted. I wonder if Putin had decided to undertake his “special military operation” in Alaska, would the Orange 🍊 have the same approach?

Inflation back up then. Highest in 10 months. They’ll be putting interest rates back up!

I agree. We need to review how we operate altogether to allow this. Unfortunately, whilst London is a financial powerhouse, the rest of the country is built on distribution centres. It’s crazy to think that we have allowed business from other nations like Amazon, Meta, Cisco, Alphabet (Google), Adobe, Microsoft and Apple to avoid paying UK taxes and they now thrive with massive profits. Those billions of pounds could be utilised. We almost need to flip the world back on its head and maybe have a united approach with Europe. The world is a smaller place and as an island it is going to be difficult to survive in a fight if we are isolated on an island. We almost need to agree how we move forward as a borderless United States of Europe / EU (I know this will upset the right, as they still think we should shoot the rubber dinghies that are crossing the channel). We could do with agreeing strategic partnerships with other European based countries with manufacturing, food, energy, technology and pharmaceutical products at its heart. Our challenge will be raw materials or such things as oil, fuel etc, however we need to find alternative ways forward as a combined effort. This will of course require people to stop the duck swinging contest and have strategic conversations on a united effort to improve and become self sufficient. Maybe somewhat idealistic, however can you trust our neighbours over the pond, or the impending treat of Russia squeezing us from the East? The other challenge is finding someone or a group of people competent in running everything in an efficient fashion!

Technically, the chance of an asteroid of a significant size has actually increased to 1/32. Albeit it’s a 3 on the Torino scale. That’s still a potential 90 meter asteroid though! https://www.independent.co.uk/space/asteroid-2024-yr4-nasa-earth-chances-b2700006.html#:~:text=NASA has officially upgraded the, roughly 1-in-32. When you consider the Torino scale. https://cneos.jpl.nasa.gov/sentry/torino_scale.html That’s the 2nd highest rating any asteroid has had since the 99942 Apophis was briefly classified as a level 4 in 2009ish.

Trumps way of stopping the Russian invasion of Ukraine, is basically to cut funding and force Ukraine to concede defeat. It very much feels like it is one bully in Trump, supporting another bully in Putin to win. Do we foresee the collapse of NATO under Trump this time? Historically the British have a lot of blood on their hands in terms of how we generated the British empire, or even back to the crusades even. However in a modern world, which should be forward thinking, It may be a bit extreme, however I’m not sure we should be partnered or associated with any nation that won’t stand up for justice. He’s becoming more like a Dictator himself, with his irrational threats of taking Greenland, Panama, Canada, Mexico etc. It’s a shame Europe can’t stand on its own toe feet and cut off imports from the states to push back to his tactics. This is one of the challenges of the UK largely becoming a warehouse state. We rely so much on others now.

Thank you! Took me an age to type out on my phone at 3AM! Either way, if we end up getting two years of the all the promoted teams getting relegated, it makes the situation worse if anything. Especially when you consider the recent history of Leicester. Southampton finished 6th in 15/16 as well. Both have been mismanaged, however I think this correlation in expenditure against incomings is generating a wider divide. T Manchester United will fall further behind as they’ll now be crippled by PSR themselves. So we go back to a big four / five (Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea) and and a disrupter for the season (Forest). How long before the likes of Newcastle, Villa, Chelsea etc fall into this trap also? All that’s keeping some of them up in reality, is how poor the teams coming up are.

I fully understand what you mean by this. I didn’t know if it was a case of those who should loudest, however than does become almost a domino impact as more people get cognitive bias, based on being brainwashed by the social media echo chamber ……. I’m looking at X here. Mine seems to have gone from me looking at mainly football, to people retweeting Musks opinions etc! I’ve had to do a raft of u follows. If Leicester had a platform that was informative; I’d be tempted to leave altogether.

Bizarrely I thought only two of the three had gone in 23/24. It was early……

The wages were from Capology when I did something the other week around PSR calculations.

It’s never happened before, however if the gap continues to widen, it could become a stark reality that PSR isn’t a sustainable model when joining the league.

Depends how far out you want to go? In North West Leicestershire you’ve got a few options. Loughborough Uni: https://www.lboro.ac.uk/sport/memberships-prices/pay-as-you-go-prices-24-25/ Hermitage Leisure Centre, Coalville https://www.nwleics.gov.uk/pages/3g_pitch_hermitage_recreation_ground Grace Dieu Football Academy https://gracedieumanorpark.co.uk/football-pitches/ Ashby Ivanhoe Pitches (Use to be 3) https://schoolhire.co.uk/ashby-de-la-zouch/ivanhoe-school/football-pitch/23100 Newbridge School, Coalville https://venues.lionhearttrust.org.uk/venues/206-the-newbridge-school/1347-outdoor-grass-pitch-1---11-v-11 Alternatively, this gives a good idea on where most of the pitches are in Leicestershire! https://pitchfinder.org.uk/map/site/1004060/

Unfortunately, social media and its approach to “freedom of speech”, allows for idiots to basically say what they want. For me, it feels like racism in the 80s. It was commonly used as no one was educated. As time has gone on and generations have become more acknowledging of each other, it’s as a rule, largely been stamped out. However you’ll still come across the odd absolute cretinous, intransigent pigheaded spoon, that will also tell you football was better when hooliganism was what football was about. The good news is that they are now in the minority and for me, are largely keyboard warriors. Maybe that’s my naive approach and the circles I move within. I’d like to think they’d be massively called out if they did! It clearly does still exist within society, as we are discussing it here. However just let consenting adults do, what they want to do. They’re not impacting anyone but themselves, so what does it matter? I’m hoping like racism, this starts to thin itself out, as time goes on. What I will say (maybe controversially), is that I don’t need a stereotype for each member of the EDI demographic in every TV series / film that I watch. I do feel they semi try to force the issue, which maybe counter productive? I guess that is up for debate! Ramesh Ranganathan often jokes about him “filling a quota”. I like him but again ….. come on. Babbling over ………

I’m going to guess and say that the amount of snow on the ground has actually stopped this being a more tragic accident. Looking at that video, whilst it’s been filmed on a potato, it looks like it’s tried to land, then rolled? Has the cold conditions, then slid it down the runway, cooling it down, flipping it over? Difficult to tell from that video.

It’s crazy that the plane hasn’t broken up when tipping over. I’ve never seen anything like that. It is a minor miracle that everyone is still alive. It feels like we are having a lot more aeroplane accidents this year.

I think it looks like this. Players highlighted in orange leaving, with the players in green being sold. Ignore the wages bit, as that’s debatable. However it’s safe to say with Vardy leaving, which is a necessary evil at this point, we’ll wipe a load off the wage bill. I think this is a nice summary. You could easily flip our defence to a back three, then incorporate wing backs, with Kristiansen and Woyo. This still doesn’t negates the fact we can’t score, however we can at least try to stop conceding goals.
